Born into a musical family, Lucie Horsch began to play the recorder when she was five. Just four years later, she became a star overnight after her performance at the famous Prinsengracht Concert in Amsterdam. Although she doesn’t set great store by her social media presence, she has hundreds of thousands of fans on KZbin. »Lucie is the reason why I want to learn the recorder«, is one comment you’ll see there. The world seems to listen to the recorder with new ears since Lucie Horsch has been around.
The likeable musician also believes that part of what makes the music so moving is the special sound of her instrument. »The recorder is one of the most direct and pure instruments around«, she says. »Its apparent simplicity makes it vulnerable, and that’s precisely why it can sound so poignant.«

Ich verfolge ihre Karriere seit einigen Jahren und finde es beeindruckend, mit wie viel Charisma und Leidenschaft sie diesem zu Unrecht als Kinderspielzeug abgestempelten Instrument wieder eine Stimme in der Musikwelt gibt. Wie schön, dass die Blockflöte in den letzten Jahren eine Renaissance erleben durfte und dass auch so junge und talentierte Künstler*innen dazu beitragen. 💚

I was happy to read more details about the role his instrument played in his life. When I accidentally clicked on a video called "Avro Prinsengracht Lucie Horsch Hongaarse dans" three years ago, the then 11-12 year old Lucie surprised me with a wonderful game that is unforgettable for me. I listen to all his songs on You Tube every day, especially the material from the two CDs, and I especially like the videos where I can see you while playing. I am an old (85 y.o.), retired Hungarian engineer, whose oldest grandchild is the same age as you. I wish you more success!
