Something big about the silver tear mask is that it only reduces PHYSICAL damage! So if most of your damage is elemental, like with say coded swords and you're just putting it on for access to dragon breath, it's pure positives!

I'm using it for ROB and i can get like 5k of damge in full compo without the blood loss kicking didn't notice the damge reduction since the bosses just drop dead vary fast

Also, 5% less damage is not noticeable anyway, whereas +8 levels is very significant.

The increase in output you get from going up 8 free levels out maths the 5% dmg reduction any day

The best helmet with a bonus is definitely Rogier's Pointed Hat. The slight bonus to magic weapon skills is pretty much pointless, but it has +69% swag for being the best of the pointy wizard hats.

The massive game changing boost of "+1 vigor" from the crimson hood is so huge, especially in a game where enemies can deal enough damage to make you 1 hp in 1 hit! I wonder what even the designers were thinking when allocating this kind of stat. xD

I mean 1 point of vigor can be anywhere from 20 to 50 or so hp, so yeah it might not seem like much but can definitely be more helpful than it seems

@@FelisImpurrator if you rely on FP, honestly I use the redhood until the heirodas crown and haven't taken it off. You could use the red until the blue but off of raw amount per point boosted vigor is more until after 50 vigor iirc where FP is only 6 per level as early as 20 or so. 6-9 FP is not as valuable to me as 15-64 HP not going to lie that is subjective so to each their own.

@@youtubevoice1050 also 1% damage negation on a good helmet versus the health gained from red hood is definitely something to consider. Even the best helmet in the game only adds maybe 2.5 % to negation while 50 more health is quite possibly more than double the number of damage the negation would stop. Just saying if you do the math negation doesn't do as much as just increasing HP until you hit damage above 1000 every instance and even then 2.5% is only 25, which means 1 point of vigor with no resistance is better than a heavy high resistant helmet all the way until 50 vigor or more. Soooooo yea.

Is it just me, or does anyone else miss more restrained head gear from previous Souls games? I hate how a lot of head gear, especially ones that boost stats like the ones in this video either completely or mostly cover your character's face. What's the point of character creation if your helmet just covers it up? I would have loved a head piece like Crown of Dusk with a better design in Elden Ring. There are a couple of minimal head pieces like the Aristocrat Headband, but the vast majority of helms cover up your character so much and I want to see my character's face and hair, so I go without a helm 99% of the time. Hopefully some better options will be in the DLC (or added in mods)

Mimic mask gives extra arcane but I find it negligible if you have the white mask and want it solely for blood loss unfortunately

@@pinkhairvulcanus8153 there are multiple stages to a lot of quests, and the npcs move depending how far you have progressed on the map. generally speaking tho, most of the quests remain available. once you finish the boss of farum azula, that’s when things can truly lock you out. i think at this point the only quests you truly might have missed would be rya/blackguard’s quests. i could be wrong tho. maybe blaidd?
