lowkey Putrid Corpses are slept on in my opinion. they're more for distraction and tanking rather than offense. I've been using them and haven't quiet down the math on it yet, but from what i've seen, they easily have over 11,000 HP each. they literally last for ever and are a great choice for anyone needing a long lasting distraction.

It really depends on what you are looking for and what type of build you have. The jellyfish is trash at killing mobs sure , but since it has a very consistent ranged projectile (in terms of actually landing it) and is pretty tanky it is actually very usable in boss fights becaue it can reliably draw aggro multiple times and only costs 31 FP. It also doesn't have a knockdown animation and floats to avoid some ground based attacks. Since it prefers to stay at range it reliably gives you breathing room to heal or get big stagger/damage in for free because a boss has to leave you and travel significant distance to attack the jellyfish. The problem with a lot of melee ashes is that they tend be pretty janky at actually landing hits and since they are trying to stay in close range they don't really make a boss leave you in terms of spacing if you are using a melee build.

This is cool, but the problem with your method is that you are comparing summons to a group of weak enemies, whereas what people usually want to know if how summons do against bosses. Examples: Latenna is amazing, but since she cannot move she is poor in this test; Lhutena the Headless is relatively bad at holding aggro, but this test does not cover aggro; the rotten stray inflcts scarlet rot but is very weak so you need to get the aggro. Also, some summons are +9 in your test, and some are +10. The +10 summons are a lot better.

Yes, I understand your concerns, but the ranking do take into account some of your gripes. If you actually try them on bosses, you will find some are very good and some are poor at different types of bosses (because the movesets of all bosses are different). What this video does is average them up so you can get an overall understanding of their abilities. The best way to do that is to show the number of summons you get, the attack power, and how fast (aggro) they attack the enemy. With this information, you get more than simple attacks with one boss (which is meaningless against a different boss).

It's pretty easy to extrapolate this data to how they'd perform against any boss in game. And considering every boss is wildly different that'd be pointless.

I ran the whole game with my level 1 using only the skeleton bandit as bait because it lasted longer than the duo skeletons and was cheap.

Thanks for uploading this! It’s made me want to experiment with some of my many neglected ashes. I finished the game last night largely thanks to Tiche. Usually, Mimic Tear demolishes bosses, but with my melee build, he wasn’t bringing a lot to the party. My point is that even the best ashes can be very situational. Like exploration, experimentation is a big part of the fun of this game.

I'm using Engwall for now (still in early game) because he was easy to get and the wolves weren't tanky enough to keep Margit off my arse. Engwall on just +1 did long enough to kill him right away when I went back. I definitely want the greatshield boys, Mimic and Tiche for later but Radahn is gatekeeping all of them and I'm definitely not ready for that yet.

@@edepot Some are very situational. Finger Maiden Therolina would get dumpstered anywhere else (from what I have gathered here) EXCEPT against stuff like Revenants, since Revenants and undead stuff (correct me if I'm wrong there) take massive damage from healing spells. She's also great if you just can't be assed to put a few extra points into Faith to learn healing skills for yourself. Dolores the Sleeping Arrow would work great as a pure support too since he y'know.. Puts stuff to sleep. Particularly great in the duo Godskin bossfight especially given the assumption he just backs off the sleep't target indefinitely until it wears off I'm assuming. These summons along with Perfumer Tricia and even some of the DPS summons aren't necessarily meant to be fighting alone, but rather they are decent enough at taking aggro for a time for you the player to dole out some damage. It's just an added benefit that these summons come with support-esque playstyles but you have to help keep them alive yourself too because of that.

​@@edepot I like the depraved perfumer you gave him d class but for a summon that can heal himself multiple times. He can take more hits than the group of shielded enemies you ranked higher... while having better damage... The other perfumer sucks though cause and only bubbles you once.

You didn't compare the spirits equally. Summons like the jellyfish and carmaan, for example, are incredible summons, but you have to be doing your part and keeping aggro while they get their hits in. Jellyfish has good poison buildup if you don't let the enemy get to close, carmaan has time to heal himself, engvall needs time to use his stormcaller ability, latenna's range and damage can make her into a freaking rail gun if you summon her further away and keep aggro on yourself, albaunarics don't do a lot of damage, but can get consistent hits if you are willing to trade aggro, and finally, summons such as Lhutel require playing almost as if you're doing co-op.

Lutenna vs any dragon boss, carmaan against anything that is either a glass cannon or for a fight that takes ages (he excels in both), noble sorcerer against slower enemies, e.t.c. Every spirit is viable in some way, they just take some experimenting to see which situations fit best

The ranking takes into consideration how hard it hits, how much health it has, how aggressive it is, and its ability to dodge attacks. For example, Latenna is immobile (can't dodge), but very hard hitting. She can't survive very long if attacked. Black Knife Tiche has high health, very aggressive, pretty good attacks, and high ability to dodge. So that is how I compared Oleg and Engvall, using those criteria.

The skeletal bandit should be higher than the skeletal militiamen in my opinion. He does way more damage and tanks much, much better. However you had him against a guy with a giant shield, in which he does poorly.

I agree with the 2 archer puppets they are quite good especially if you keep boss aggro. And the 2 skeletons you get i think your harsh on them they work well early game not so much late game.
