In that invasion in Castle Ensis the random explosion was the co-invader. He had the jar cannon and shot at the host who was sneaking up beside you. The co-invader had the cannon out earlier and you can juuuuuuuuust barely see the host sneaking up beside you... only to get blasted by the cannon without realizing it was in play.
