A really cool Elden Ring challenge run i came up with, i though it was going to be a much bigger disaster but it turned into one of the most fun challenges!

Love this run lmao, was kinda hoping for more Snake Shield love, since it actually procs something called "Deadly Poison" which does like double the damage normal poison does, but lasts 30 seconds as opposed to 90 seconds. The only way to get around this is a poison infusion, which only works on the snakebite fist weapons, resulting in 90 seconds of deadly poison, which is basically as strong as scarlet rot (AND CAN BE STACKED WITH IT).

The crazy thing is that this build can get even more broken if you use guard counters and the guard counter damage enhancing talisman.

I completed this challenge myself last year. Super fun one. I think it straddles the line quite well between being an interesting self inflicted challenge run without being completely miserable.

If someone wanted to try a less cheesy version of this build without 2 handing the shield, dragonbolt blessing is great for its hardness 2 buff which reduces the recoil when blocking and even allows you to block heavier weapons/attacks.

The ant’s skull plate shield has a default hardness of 3 without needing a buff and every other great shield has a default hardness of 2. so the blessing would only apply to unblocked attacks but the other buffs from dragon bolt would probably be great for turtling with a base great shield.

@@Vaderburg Theres a few problems with this. When you are invading your shield has no hardness anymore in PvP, so you still need dragonbolt blessing as barricade shield is considered apart of the shield. So you don't get hardness 4 from it. There is also the small issue that dragonbolt blessing lasts twice as long compared to barricade shield. (20 sec vs 10). Furthermore often times shields themselves cannot be infused with ashes of war, especially the best greatshields. Lastly, only greatshields have hardness 2 by default. Medium shields (such as the brass shield, which is insanely popular for being the best medium shield) only have hardness 1 by default. And small shields have no hardness whatsoever, such as the parry buckler.

I did this run myself a couple months ago and I found it quite interesting, the Visage Shield is definitely the best offensive shield by far, and spike and fingerprint are situationally useful especially against NPCs, although I did struggle vs Malenia I tried many setups but at the end I just got her with the Visage Shield and a LOT of patience...

I'm doing this right now also. I still have like 6 remembrances left to go yet. Fire Giant took me a while, I actually beat him with the Visage shield. Turns out 50% fire resistance is still less than 100, lol. The ones I'm most concerned with are Mohg, who I've attempted already and he is an asshole, and Melania. Melania at least has 0 fire resist as long as she's outsaide of the water.
