Elden Ring DLC - Consort Radahn Boss Fight Hitless

One of the toughest challenges in the DLC, without a doubt.
While I don't mind difficult encounters, learning this fight wasn't the most pleasant experience. Getting continuously flash banged in the second phase is no fun, no matter the context, and Miquella's damned hair made it very difficult to see certain attacks that require precising timing to avoid.
This video got waaay more views than I thought it ever would, so here's additional info for anyone watching:
As I like to call it, "triple cross cut" attack can be avoided in 3 ways: 1 is to perform a very late dodge from right to left, angling yourself as I did in the first phase, 2 is to use Deflecting Tear and "parry" the first attack, and dodge the follow ups (also demonstrated in the first phase), and 3 is to use Fine Crucible Feather Talisman; back step the first attack and then once again double dodge the follow ups. These are the methods that I discovered and performed myself, but I am sure community will find more ways to mitigate the attack over time.
The same "triple cross cut" did not trigger in the 2nd phase, due to favorable RNG. I wish it did, as for the 2nd phase, I always use the method 2 explained above.
Unless you are using a tanky shield build, I can't see this attack being avoided without just simply getting better at recognizing it and having enough practice to master avoiding it. I don't want to say "git good" because it's cringe, but honestly, practice makes perfect and with enough of it, everyone can learn to avoid the attack.
The build is centered around consecutive attacks, dexterity focused, and uses Ritual Sword Talisman, Milicent's Prostesis, Magic Scorpion Charm and Two-Headed Turtle Talisman. Physick had Deflecting Tear and Magic-Shrouding Cracked Tear, with a Backhand Blade weapon, Cold Infused.

This video was primarily uploaded to show the fight to my wife who loves watching me play Elden Ring, but was unable to keep up with my sleepless marathon of playing DLC content.

For that one u just dodge twice and then dodge the lasers from above, I think if u dodge early it does he’s the first and u have enough time to dodge again and dodge the 2nd and third ones, and if u dodge late, it’ll dodge the first and second and ull have enough time to dodge the 3rd one then the sky lasers. That move is honestly no where near as bs as the 3 sword swing that I still don’t know how to dodge

U can dodge the 1-2-x hug his back left foot dodge left 1st swipe late as possible and u will dodge 2nd one aswell it’s so fast.

Amazing job and you are spot on with the critique. It was the flashyness blinding me for moments and Miquellas hair blocking his body so I couldnt read the damn moves sometimes that made it frustrating. Got him down eventually. Amazing job here.

The hitbox on that one is kind of weird and the visuals don't correspond 100%. You're able to stand on that little explosion without taking damage, but if you stand right behind him, it hits you.

@@PedroSanchez-jj2ri The DLC is filled with weird shit, not just this boss. Rellana sometimes will phase her swords through you and it won't register a hit. Everyone knows Gaius' legendary boar charge, but sometimes what happened to me with the charge is that most of the time it dealt normal, understandable damage, like a 5th or a 4th of my health, but occasionally, it would one shot me for some reason. He is also immune to damage during the charge, or rather, it seems he has no collision during it and attacks go through him. Messmer is mostly fine, he has only one attack where the hitbox is a bit strange but other than that he good. Radahn also has just this weird inaccurate hitbox on that aoe and that one specific 3 hit combo where it's practically impossible to dodge by normal means, plus the visual clutter in phase 2, but other than that I think he is genuinely a great boss. I'm certain all of these things are gonna get fixed soon, but it's strange that it's so apparent. I know original Radahn had broken hitboxes on release as well, but that's the only instance I can think of.

if you're at rune level 80 without a challenge run you should 100% level up because the pvp meta is at 150 and that's where the most traffic pve and pvp wise is while most pve only players go to even around rune level 200-300 for the biggest damage

One question: In all these videos on KZbin how is he so slow? When I play the game he is a blur. There is no way of seeing what the next attack would be. He never stands still and go from move to move and I am done by first, second or at most third strike.

It is possible to dodge, but it's very inconsistent and requires too much precision, so it's better to just block or deflect the first hit and dodge the rest.

@@abeon8151it because he was in the perfect place to dodge the attack which is sort of close and on the right side then dodging into his right leg. However you can not always be stood in this specific spot conveniently on the random occurrence to dodge the double swipe. And god forbid you go for an attack on some of the his seemingly grace periods after attacks because you will get caught at the end of your attack animation if he decides to do that attack and you will be stun locked in phase 2 because of the light rays stun locking you into the full combo. I’ve been trying this for two days; almost did it once but he hit me in the end with a random bugged lighting beam when he was 3 hits off. How do you roll the double fast attack that roll catches into charged? It always roll catches unless you are to his left
