As someone literally writing a book about shields, I was so hyped we finally got a langenschild in a souls game! I just wish their was ONE more in the game with 100 physical like the metal-reinforced hakenschild type.

I may be mistaken, but isn't there a weapon/shield like these in DS2? Sorry if my memory fails me.

I don't think I've had as much fun in a souls game with any other weapon. It's such a dirty playstyle and I DO NOT CARE

99% of the issue with Abyssal Woods would be solved with 1.) being able to torrent after downing Midra, and 2.) some of that Nomadic Merchant cut content tied into it.

Gotta say I did my 2nd DLC play with the Carian Shield, it is SO strong. Heavy w/ Impaling Thrust it staggers every boss bar Radahn in like 2 or 3 hits. Blocks while attacking and has greatshield level stability at +25.

@@NerdHerdForLife more like removing the challenge run. It's fun to turn the game into a walking simulator with this thing.

using guard counters and the deflect tear i was downing radahn every 3 hits. slapped bleed on it and melted the last half of his hp. it’s a super fun and different way to play the game

If you don't know where to find the shield in game, you need to search the specimen storehouse. The upper levels specifically. Good luck.

I have my pouch equips remapped to X (Dualshock), jump is on triangle for easier hopping while running. Pouch setup is Torrent (Up), Rune Arc (Right), Lantern (Left) and Spirit Ash of choice (Down).

You can trade with Gostoc before killing Godrick if you find him at one of his hiding spots (up on the cliff above the first grace past the hole in the wall, up at the top of the church where you meet Rogier, one more I'm forgetting) to catch him in the act, then go back to his starting spot and talk to him. I believe you just have to pick up the rusty key for him to start appearing at these spots.

i do Y+Up for torrent, easier to roll my thumb onto the control stick to start running forward, Y+Right for my lantern, Y+Left/down for spirit ashes

Since I got the Solitude set and weapon I've definitely just been running with that the whole time. It looks so god damn cool. Solitude set but with raptor feathers and the death knight helm. 10/10
