Rogier will pass away shortly after talking with him. He will drop his armour set and his bell bearing that you can take to the merchant at the roundtable to access the store he had.

Sorry for the late reply but this video is showing you the steps if you missed him completely. However, reading through the wiki for his quest you can miss him entirely if you speak to ranni in the beginning of the game which I didn't do during this playthrough.
