In this video, I explore the lore and story of Starscourge Radahn. Starscourge Radahn is a Boss in Elden Ring. Starscourge Radahn is a massive and destructive creature located in Caelid, General Radahn is cursed ever to wander. Eaten from the inside, by Malenia's scarlet rot, his Wits are long gone. Now he gathers the corpses of former friends and foes alike, gorging on them, like a dog.

One sad detail i noticed when i visited redmain castle was a chair close to the lift before Radahn's arena. It was facing the beach. Which made me believe that Jerren spends most of his time looking at his old comrade driven by madness.

The thing I love about the Radahn fight is that its not really a boss fight so much as it is an epic raid just to put him out of his misery. Thats why it feels necessary and canonical to summon all those warriors to help celebrate the event and what a spectacle it is too.

I love the juxtaposition to his brother as well. Rykard was an evil, corrupted monster his men finally saw as the monster he was. Radahn was such a leader even his madness he was so respected they threw The Radahn Festival until the general got the honourable end he deserved

The battle between the two was implied to be a stalemate. As a draw would still mean Malenia was never defeated. Also Malenia was stated to have given into the Scarlet Rot to "meet Radahn's measure", meaning she wasn't able to beat him without the rot. And finally, Malenia was pulled out of the battlefield slumbering all the way back to the Haligtree after blooming, while Radahn was still alive. Had she been left there, she would have died.

You seem to have left out the part where the rot was also eating away at Malenia from the inside, she was missing body parts, partially blind and she was also not at full power because she wasn’t at the third bloom. I love Radhan but you dickriders are annoying creating your own lore and passing off your opinions as facts. Also she was born with the rot, yes it’s a cancer but also part of her abilities to use. This is war to the death and anything goes.

Well she was born cursed with the rot so there was no, "beating him without the rot." The rot is apart of her. Plus she was dealing with it since birth. What happened to radahn was she cursed him with her rot. And he couldn't even deal with it for a second. It absolutely destroyed his mind in the process. That's why it's a stale mate. She over exerted herself and fell into a deep sleep and radahn could no longer continue the fight because he was driven insane. He no longer could rationalize and was essentially turned into a clueless beast with an insatiable appetite. If he happened to kill her. It wouldn't have been legitimate as victory for radahn. 1. Cause she had to be completely disabled for him to win. And 2. There was no point after his mind got destroyed because his goals and ambition ceased to exist at the point. A strong mind is also important.

The whole reason Milenia nuked Radahn and Aeonia in the first place is because she was probably losing or knew she was no match for Radahn. It was her last ditch attempt at defeating him even if it killed her too. We know she had to be carried back probably in a near death state and has been regenerating at the Haligtree ever since that battle.

I always see the pre-Rot Radahn as a stoic, almost fatherly figure. Stern, demanding, but had high hopes and pushed people under his command to be the best they could be. That kind of guy to give you a pat on the back after a hard day of work then offer helpful solutions to reduce the workload.

@@rossl5908 malenia literally nuked an entire landmass by willingly putting herself in a gravely wounded state by her own blade just to let her disease do the fighting for her to kill Radhan. The result was Malenia was completely KO'ed by her own attack and Radhan the chad tanked a nuke point blank and survived. The scarlet rot took Radhans mind and legs overtime but that is not to Malenia's credit. Her goal was to challenge and kill Radhan but she failed and Radhan lived. Oh and the entire time during his fight with Malenia AND YOU he was reserving massive chunks of his power to keep himself light enough to not crush his steed and literally hold all the stars and meteors in the sky still. If thats not fucking BADASS i dont know what is.

I would love to cure him, so he would become an Npc, so you would have the option to support him to become the elden lord for a different ending, or fight him and he would be cranked straight to 12, and on 2x so you can see his true strength and mastery along with his weightless from the gravity magic, and he would be summoning the stars he holds back to bombard you and have the stars visibly leave from the from the night sky, so that if you last long enough the stars would be all gone and leaving you in a starless night and the star attacks would end

Sadly 😥 fromsoftware disrespect him by nerfing his damage and increases the damage he gets. The only boss that fromsoftware has created to be battled differently from any other bosses, Ofcourse you can fight him alone and challenge yourself. But at early release of the game I couldn't beat him without the help of the others, and it's was magnificent battle. But now with the unnecessary nerf and NG+2 I can easily beat him in his first phase. That's really a bummer. If there is a boss that needs a nerf it's melnia without a doubt

you can actually beat Radhan even before the nerf. using those companions to beat Radhan will just make him tough as an old leather boot and that also applies to any boss fight using summons. Radhan isn't that hard, he just become so tanky once you activated those extra help.

What if Radahn instead of holding up all the stars we see in the cutscene after beating him, drags them all down with gravity magic to rain meteorite upon his foes the way Astel destroyed Nokron, and judging from how many stars there are and how much damage a single star did to the terrains in limgrave just by simply falling, now imagine all those stars being accelerated by gravity magic while each one of the stars being powerful alien beasts that also master gravity magics, imagine the destruction he could've caused, but he didn't do it because he wished to protect his people and territory, unlike malenia who doesn't care at all and nuked caelid with rot

In a world completely dominated by scheming liars and treacherous minds, you have the few chads that really stand out in the mix; Radahn, Godfrey, and despite not being in the game, Havel comes to mind as a similar themed character. Warriors all, honorable to a fault, fighting for their fellow kin, to prevent some great evil from befalling the world. They always seem to have tragic endings to their tale, but long after their supposed demised, they still linger as fearsome enemies, and carry on as the most memorable and respected characters in their series.

Amazing work as always. As you said, truly a living legend. While I currently serve the Fell God as an ardent redeemer, I do study the Ancient Dragons (Placidusax, Granssax, etc.) and assist the Stars (Ranni; I always do her ending). And out of the Demi-god children of Marika, Radahn is an absolute favorite and I would love to have fought him at his prime - or died in his gravitational wormhole or meteor barrage, which is still epic. Anywho, I just wanted to add one more bit of lore about Redmane that I love: Redmane Knight Ogha. I love the Legendary Ashes and so far Ogha & Kristoff are my favorite. But reading the lore for Ogha is so amazing (like Finlay’s). “The longest serving member of the Redmane Knights, Ogha studied techniques to manipulate gravity alongside Radahn.” That signals to me that this knight was also a legend who travelled along side Radahn very closely. And it shows every time I summon him and he instantly begins obliterating enemies with his great bow without me even prompting. Thanks friend 😇 Anywho. Thanks again for all the great content. Radahn, Ogha, and the Redmane Knights are truly stuff of legend and I hope they get a redemption (as I wish for the Fell God and Fire Giants) once the next reign of the Lands Between begins (hopefully by Ranni, but who knows! Dung Eater and Goldmask would also be cool continuations.) Gonna go play some more ER. I think I have rambled enough. Enjoy exploring, learning, dying, and growing my beautiful, fellow Tarnished!

By far my favorite fight in the game. A glorious entrance and story behind the fight itself. I love the character design and emotion behind him. Malenia is still my favorite of the demigods in ER and for me her story is much more sad. I love the depth of every character in the game even down to the mobs you fight along the way! Would love to have a prequel book or comic series come out to read and really dig into the lore leading up to the game.

Hmm? Oh wait your new to souls games arent you? Well thats how it usually goes with souls games. The lore is rarely just told to you. You have to read everything and come to your own conclusions. And as you progress throw the game youll find more items either confirming your theory or disproving it making you have to come up with another one based on what youve learned.

@@lewispooper3138 I actually just started the Demon Souls remake for PS5 and after only just a few hours, I'm COMPLETELY blown away. I can't believe how gorgeous this game is. EVERYTHING, from the character model, the enemies and bosses, the environment, even the animations are beautiful. I don't know why Elden Ring wasn't made with the same level of detail. I even redownload Elden Ring just to see if I was imagining just how much better Demon Souls looked, but as soon as I started playing ER, it was immediately clear how much more polished DS is. You also have MUCH better support for the Dualsense controller as well.

Radahn is like Orphan where you're fighting him at a fraction of his potential and still can easily beat you down over and over. For melee builds Radahn, Astral and Godfrey are just brutal. At least you can parry Melania.

Imagine a dlc where it sents u back to Malenia vs Radahn fight where both sides soldiers clashing right infront of you and then later u enter the fight where both bosses are clashing , there will be a questline where you decide who you allied yourself with ... will it be helping the goddess of scarlet rot wins the invasion or help the general who conquered the stars to defend his land...

You know… the Battle of Aeonia wasn’t really a fair fight… for one, Radahn had some restrictions about him, and with Malenia, not only did she harbor a pretty terrible plague, but I’m pretty sure she had the aid of Finlay.

@@Dmbenaron I have no idea. Both are children of Radagon - both renowned for their skill in combat - both on opposite sides, for Radahn abided by the Golden Order as Malenia and her brother Miquella resented it. Other than that, I have no clue.

@Kyuku True. He had the advantage in overall size and strength, and even skill. Though Malenia also had some skill about her. All she really did was evade his attack at the cost of her arm, grabbed her sword, jumped on him, she stabbed herself while stabbing him so there was that contamination going on 💅 then she bloomed and that pretty much sealed the deal for Radahn.

It was very odd to hear you narrate a lore video. I think the script was great and you delivered it well (not as well as Vaati… obviously😄) but I felt that for you to improve you would need to build up your style. In my opinion it had a little bit of a children’s bedtime story tone and would have liked to hear a bit more character. I’m sure you have a “souls” voice in you somewhere 😊. Who is Dan Allen in the Lands Between? What tales echo out through his voice?

It took an outer gods power point blank to the face while he was stabbed in several places with scarlet rot spears and holding back the fucking sky to break his mind but not his body. And even then he had enough willpower to keep holding the sky up. What an Omega Chad.

@@ungabunga9581 Agree. She had no disadvantages in that fight, while Radahn had to care about lots of things. And people who say that she is crippled with scarlet rot and lacked her arm, aren't right. Her prosthetics are better than real arms and scarlet rot, as we saw, making her only more dangerous. Her deed becomes only worse if we remember that because of it, the whole region which was under Radahn's control is now cursed with her poison. With the same success, Radahn could drop all stars he was holding onto her head.

@@auditor7613 I'm pretty sure if we're talking pure destructive power, from what we've seen in Elden Ring nothing really compares to Radahn's ability to drop thousands of stars. We saw what happened when one star fell from the sky, it created a giant crater that we use to enter the eternal city. He had thousands if he dropped them he could wipe out the entire continent.
