some of it like annoyingly obscure but i try not to research much on how to do the quest, probably my biggest gripes at Ranni quest is that how tf should i know i was suppose to go to the coffin to progress the area but other than that it was fine, i was really intrigue with Ranni's story.

You missed a pretty important step. Once you get they key from Ranni, you have to place it at the pedestal at Carian Study Hall. Once you go through there you get the Cursemark of Death, which is what you need to even open Renna's Rise. Edit: I posted this comment like the first week the game was out. It's probably a glitch some people will experience, but getting the cursemark of death is what finally opened the door for me. I only assumed the cursemark was the necessary key to open Rennas rise, since it was listed under keys in your inventory.

@@FIRENICEWOLF Man, my game must've been glitched. I rested and fast traveled multiple times and the door wouldn't open. It wasn't until I got the cursemark of death that it opened so I just assumed it was the key.

There may be a couple of things that can stop the quest and you should really make that clear, because I’ve been trying to do this for hours now. For those of you stuck I will try to save you some time. 1. If Ranni is not showing you may have triggered the event for Radahn boss fight and have to complete it or else she won’t show in the tower 2. I never even interacted with the wolf guy in my run so wouldn’t worry about him. 3. After you return the blade to Ranni he completely leaves out a necessary step, go back to the Study Hall in east Liurnia, place the hourglass next to the globe and complete this area, you will receive the mark of death. After you pick up this item Renna’s tower should not be blocked anymore.

8:41 if the door is locked for you after giving Renna the Dagger. Bring up the map and press the grace spot again basically reloading the game. That worked for me.

To the people who reading this, when arrekz pick up the black whetblade, go straight and you will find an imp statue door, open it, defeat the enemy there, open the treasure chest, voila, one of the best summon in the game. But it all "depends" on you though 😉 Edit 1: on the lake of rot, there's platform with pillar on it, there's a switch to activate more platform to walk safely on so yeah you don't need to chug that many of your estus, also prepare some boluses that heals rot. Other tip is you can use quickstep art to...quickstep on the lake

IMPORTANT!!! If you’re like me and started the quest line but didn’t know what to do, then killed radahn and now want to do the quest, you can skip the step in the River well. Just talk to the wolf guy after you beat radahn and you can go to fort haight👍🏾 if you want to get the map you can go down there but not necessary, the wolf won’t be there and the meteors in the sky will spawn. You just skip a step basically

If Blaidd doesn't appear at Ranni's Rise, don't worry. The quest line is not broken! It's quite the complete opposite. You'll be able to skip straight to getting the Fingerslayer Sword! Warp to the Night's Sacred Ground grace and walk up the stairs and you'll then be destined to get the item!

This is a pretty good guide but it leaves out many key steps that will have you looking up other guides unfortunately. 1 how to open the portal to the Radahn fight. 2 when you finishe the fight and return to Ranni, you have to talk to her, exhaust her Dialogue, leave and come back to finder her gone and a new grace site, and then the tower to the north opens. 3 when you get the Ranni doll, when you get to the lift before the basilisks, at the grace site, theres an option to speak to the doll. You need to exhaust its dialogue tree to be able to unlock the next step. Hope this helps, I know that when I did this I had like 5 different videos open because there’s very specific things that don’t get mentioned in this.

Hey for anyone stuck at astel I found a strategy for killing it, if you have the sorcery meteorite you can go under him and cast it when he does his lunging attack and all the meteorites will hit him. If you do it near the head which is more risky, you can deal tones of damage

One missing piece- in order to use the portal at rhe Impassible Greatbridge you must first activate thr Grand Dectus Lift Left Medallion is in Fort Haight, a peninsula of a lake below minor erdtree south of 3rd church of marika Right medallion is Fort Faroth, Caelid, southwest of dragonbarrow minor erdtree. Once dectus lift is active, the Redmane Castle portal activates

The only thing I actually did in this questline was talk to all NPC's, I missed Seluvi's questline, I missed the half-wolfs questline. I had just talked to all before I didn't even do Nokron or anything. I met the wolf the second time at Radahn. This was after talking to Ranni the first time and him as well. He told me about her slumber, I slayed Radahn and then I could wake her up after getting the black knife. She left, I got miniature Ranni and did the rest to geet Moonlight sword, it's actually pretty ez to get in FromSoft standard.

Guy's every single guide is leaving out a really important part in the begging Renna is not going to be in the tower as long as you didn't finished Blaidd the Blaidd quest, and Blaidd going to attack you instead of talking with you if you attacked the sleeping bear nearby his location and it's knocked him of the ruins (in this case head to the church of vows )

Ok so my playtrough seems very very strange of this quest. I first did Blaidds questline a bit, than did the School after that I did the Festival. After that I did meet Ranni but Blaidd did not show up as a Spectral in the her Tower to speak with. After that I met Seluvis he gave me only the Potion with the mission, after that I went into the meteor hole did everything there, went back up spoke to Ranni and finished the quest somehow. Than I went visiting Seluvis again for his Sulivis Introduction item and he was dead!? And got his Armour and items, after that I went to speak to the Big Smith he told me I am a good servent etc. Visited the place where Blaidd is prisoned, went back to the Smith and he told me he will betraye Ranni. Jeah seems very strange of way my mission is going xD (btw i never did complete the mission with the potion for Seluvis).

I have the Moonveil Katana as my second weapon in the right handed slot so I'm switching out between DMGS and Moonveil in my right hand, meanwhile I have Lusat's staff and also Meteorite Staff in my left hand casting Comet Azur with Lusat's and casting Rock Sling, Magic Glintblade, Terra Magicus and Adula's Moonblade with Meteorite. I'm going to mix some other good pvp spells in there as well if you have any suggestions please let me know.

Also, I want to know if Lusat's Glintstone Staff costs 50% more fp even if you only have it equipped to a slot and are currently using Meteorite Staff instead to cast spells. Thanks in advance.

4:21 Having an issue at the redmane castle I didn’t have the option to teleport past the bridge into the fort instead I had to fight my way through it and defeated the boss at the end but the dude in the berserk armor won’t show up and the old guy isn’t where he’s supposed to be any tips?

The mimic boss is my favorite boss ever. I took off all my gear, and played fashion souls for this battle. It was like 30 mins of my fisting myself. Eventually equipped my weapons and rocked my world. Good times. Best boss.

I've always been a moonlight greatsword build in every soulsborne game. I do have to say that the elden ring version feels a little disappointing. It's got some fantastic damage, but compared to bloodborne's version, it's so dull when it comes to its moveset.
