The former president of Marvel (Disney wasn't really involved here) feuded with the former president of Fox over Marvel film licensing. In retaliation, Marvel freely decided to stop marketing the characters that Fox had film rights to. It affected the comic books, merchandising... and video games. There were a lot of problems with MvC Infinite, but the main reason why it undersold was the missing "Fox" characters who were part of MvC since the 1990s, before the Marvel blockbuster movie era. So the key art of Cyclops front-and-center with a huge grin on his face is a major statement for longtime fans, and anyone else who's familiar with the Marvel-Fox feud

If I had to point out one mistake Fromsoft made, it's their description of the scadutree blessing. They really should have made it obvious that this is the way to increase your power in the shadow realm. As it is now, the description of the blessing sounds like it's some optional thing and it is not. If you don't seek out the scadutree fragments, you're doing a challenge run, in the same low SL would be a challenge run. Personally, my main drive in Fromsoft games is exploring, I make it my primary goal to explore of all the available map before engaging the critical path bosses. Partly because I enjoy looking for sequence breaks and partly because I like running early into some crazy challenging late game bosses to see if I can beat them. And you'd be surprised how far you can get without beating a single main boss in the DLC.

Here is my hot take with Pokemon games: When I was younger, I fell off after 2nd generation. A few months ago, I played through the first six generations back to back (Yellow, Crystal, Emerald, Platinum, White, White 2, and X). Nostalgia didn't win. Black/White 1&2 are the best Pokemon games (at least through X). I think nostalgia definitely helped my interest, but I was super impressed by how much the mechanics improved through the first five generations, and how wonderful the stories were. Unfortunately, X was the first game that felt like a step backwards. I feel like there is a weight around Pokemon that becomes a turnoff for JP. I'm definitely not saying that he needs to like them, haha, but it surprises me that he doesn't. There is this really nice feeling of min/maxing your team, and the mechanics really reward you if you do it well. It's also fun to just end up thinking an individual pokemon is dope and saying "fuck strategy, he stays on my team!"

32:00 Disney banned characters fans wanted to push their MCU stuff. They also forced an infinity stone system no one wanted. The models for some of Capcom's characters were atrocious. Marvel was super controlling and Capcom took all the heat.

JP. I, too, am a total West Wing/Sorkin maniac. At the end of season 4 (again), currently. 😂 The show is just too good. I’ve seen all the episodes many many times. The banter somehow doesn’t get old. Though seasons 5-7 are definitely weaker, post the Aaron, Tommy, and Rob exodus.

I would say there's a big difference between indulging in a real life hobby vs whaling for a video game. When you spend $1200 for a hobby telescope, you're paying for the materials, manufacturing and the artistry that went into creating that piece of equipment. It becomes a tangible piece of property that you're able to use for yourself, put up for display, lend/sell/gift to someone, etc, for the rest of your life. I'm not saying the people designing skins for LoL aren't real artists, I'm saying I just don't see how you can draw a parallel between an expensive IRL hobby & paying hundreds of dollars for a license to some pixels that can be easily revoked at any time for any reason. Obviously people are allowed to spend their money however they want, and if you wanna whale just to support your favorite dev then more power to you. Zeke's analogy there just rubbed me the wrong way

My Elden Ring take: yes everything hits like a truck at first but you get used to it - you still can use your mimic summon and stomp over bosses and with exploring and finding more scadutree blessings everthing gets easier. The world and scenery is fantastic and fun to explore. The issues i have with this DLC: 1 The world is really empty in some places: In parts you are riding for mintues only to find a smithing stone. 2. Enemy recycling is in some parts very bad - i get it its the same world but seeing the same enemies recycled again and again (looking at you dragons) is really bothering me. Still a very good game for me.

Interestingly, Bruce compares Still Wakes the Deep to being a game that seems like it's trying to test out elements for a larger, darker game with combat. If I'm not mistaken, aren't they the ones making VTM Bloodlines 2, and we're all super concerned that it'll be trash? If they're nailing dark, atmospheric gameplay, and this was a short cut to let people see what they can do, it could be a positive view of things to come.

For the new zelda game the thing I dislike about it is the creativity to solve the problems how you want, where in the past it's a very clear set in mind puzzle. That's the whole reason BoTW and ToTK weren't of any interest to me as it was more of a sandbox

It's definitely tough to strike that balance, because on paper it's cool that there are bunch of ways to solve a puzzle, but often in practice it just means that the puzzles are easier and less unique/interesting.

I'm still playing League after 12 years and yeah I'm an adult with disposable income but I have completely lost interest in buying any skins for the game. Haven't bought one in years. Partly because you get soo many for free from chests and partly because there are so many none of them feel special anymore. Not sure if I'm alone on that. Also how the fuck do people get outraged over that $500 Ahri skin? Its a cosmetic. It gives you no advantage in game. Riot is a company trying to make money. Dont buy it. Forget about it. ?!

I am 100% supportive of Cohh taking as much time off as he needs to make memories with his kids. Nothing streaming related should ever come before that. I am less supportive of ditching on his friends and the podcast they all run together 'cause he wants 2-3 more hours of Elden Ring. I just don't think it's a great look, but I mean, w/e.
