Despite the hate. I love the design and soundtrack of this boss. I truly felt like i was fighting a being beyond mortal understanding and unimaginable power at the very center of the cosmos (the other erdtrees in the background representing different lands the beast successfully took over)

This fight was the legit one of the best thing that happened in my gaming memory at least. It was so fucking good, it was a show more than a fight. When i first died to it, i was happy i would get to fight again. I had negative feedback on game after 100 hours but this, this changed everything. I wish everything in life is as satisfying as this fight. Perfect. Perfect

Can't believe I didn't realise that the design of the Elden Beast itself represents the Erdtree. It's extremely noticeable when it ascends at 1:30. It's main body representing the trunk of the erdtree, it's wings the branches and leaves and it's tail the roots. Never noticed this as I was always looking down trying not to trip over the shrinking circle. It truly is beautiful.

Marika's ambition: 0:26 - 1:07 The ambition of the Greater Will: 1:08 - 1:50 The clash of both ambitions: 1:51 - 2:32
@johncortez98896 ай бұрын

@dllps3 ай бұрын
@@johncortez9889 Marika has an ambition, greater than any other. The Greater Will too has it own ambition. However, both are similar, but not aligned. Marika wanted the “Golden”, the Greater Will wanted the “Order”. the Greater Will does not care what order exists, therefore that it exists. It’s only real enemy is the Frenzied Flame.
@TheStraightestWhitest2 ай бұрын
For me I interpreted things differently. 0:26 Is the tragedy that Marika, in an attempt to avenge her people, became essentially a twisted puppet to this overpowering force from beyond. Riddled with grief and devoid of what once made her human, or in her case Numen, she's now being literally used as a weapon for the one she can't stop serving. This part starts when Radagon is transformed into the Elden Beast's sword, so that's always what I took away from it. Then there's 1:08, which to me sounds rebellious and heroic, especially 1:28. Like a fragment of who Marika once was is still resisting. This might be the intended feeling, because that part plays right as the fight begins in-game and you notice the scar across its belly which was inflicted by Marika. It's as if the game is saying you are not alone in wanting to overthrow it. It's the final stride, and you're not the only one walking it. Then there's 1:51, which I do agree is the conflict of both. It's the tragedy causing dissonance with the heroism.
@dllpsАй бұрын
@@TheStraightestWhitest I would trade the Greater Will for Marika herself. The Greater Will is not really to blame for the Golden Order. The Goddess Marika is to blame and her greatest victim was the shaman Marika from that small village. Radagon is perhaps nothing more than a personification of that part of Marika, the one that wishes to continue being an eternal divinity.

@@Hitler_von_Fappington for some people they get real lucky and it doesn’t move a lot. My personal experience was the exact opposite in that the Elden Beast only lets me whack it a few times before peacing out and that is only assuming I’m not dodging any range attacks beforehand. It’s only 1 of 2 bosses that you’re really are waiting for your turn and that luck needs to be on your side otherwise you need to survive a battle of attrition with already depleting flasks. I was barely able to beat this boss and I only had one last chance before it killed me but I was able to gut it out.

The elden beast was the father. When he changes the environment for the fight, he’s just pulling you to where he was watching from the entire time as jinn can see humans from outside of our realm or reality
