Well even though the lyrics might not mean anything, the music itself is still masterfully crafted if you ask me. It is somewhat disappointing knowing there isn't some deeper lore/meaning behind it. But it does sound like some kind of ancient unkown language, which is also pretty interesting to me. Also, what if it's actually a fictional language but we don't know it yet? Like elvish in The Lord of the Rings. Probably not true but it's an interesting thought, hahahah. There's still some music in Elden Ring, to which the lyrics actually mean something. As some of those have been translated and they do fit in the lore. Bloodborne indeed has actual meaning in their lyrics. Another point that makes Bloodborne's world building and lore so deep and fascinating. Overall, great video! Thank you for sharing this with us! Even though the lyrics are gibberish, the different voices are placed over each other in an excellent way! I already appreciated the music a lot. But now that I understand it better, I have an even deeper appreciation for it. Even though the lyrics don't mean anything.
@AntoniusTertius Жыл бұрын
Sure, Elden Ring music is great anyway, music needs no lyrics to convey emotions. The only lyrics in the game (so far,before the dlc) that are translatable are the ones from the song of the bats, whose singer, lyrics and translation I revealed in March 2022. Check out my Elden Ring lyrics playlist, all the official lyrics and backstage info I got from the singers and music producers are there. By the way, one of the producers told me they intended to create languages BUT due to the short time (the game was produced during the pandemic after all) they gave up. Godskin Apostles lyrics are not in Latin and mean basically nothing, I published those official lyrics as well, before you ask me ;) Also, I contacted some music producers from Bloodborne and managed to confirm the official lyrics and lore texts (translations) of Ludwig and Laurence, I published them already. You are welcome, my Queen :) I know it is frustrating to notice From Soft used a Latin song for the bat ladies and not for bosses as Mohg. George R.R. Martin should have created a language for Elden Ring, that would be really cool! Generating meaningless syllables to simulate ancient languages are very common in video games. Curiously, 'Numen' means divinity in Latin, so I really expected more Latin in Elden Ring, all in vain :( I mean, the language of the Gods could have been Latin if the devs wished for.

@Queen Victoria Hello, Queen Victoria. Could you tell this to Olmos on my behalf (since he unfairly blocked me from his channel): 'We all love your English texts because of how fitting 'n' amazing they are, but you do know yours are no lyrics translations at all, you would still get several views and subscribers if you named your videos correctly as 'fanmade lyrics'. Also, you end up misleading others into thinking you really know Latin and that most of Elden Ring lyrics are in Latin (in truth most of them are not and mean nothing). 'Mea frater fidus' is incorrect. Frater is a masculine noun, so it should be 'Meus Frater' for example. It would take too much time for me to correct the Latin lyrics you created. I do encourage you to study Latin first before creating the lyrics, or you could only keep creating the English texts. I pray you understand how incorrect titles and descriptions create misinformation in the Souls community. Understand this: no one is against your fanmade texts, but the way you convey them makes them clickbait. You make up things in either English or Spanish, then you wrongly translate them into Latin. Sadly less than 1% of people are able to judge the 'translations', then most people focus on the English text and think the poor Latin texts are correct, simply because you didn't tell them you don't know Latin, do you really think this is fair? What else do I have to prove for you to realise the lyrics are not in Latin? How can you affirm ''my best efforts to translate the Latin lyrics for Elden Ring/Soulsbourne soundtracks'' if you simply don't know if they are in Latin, and worse don't know Latin? Focus on the English texts and rename the videos' titles. I am trying to help and counsel you as always. You once said you should have listened to me, so why don't you listen? Blocking people who point out errors and mistakes politely to create your praising bubble is very common nowadays in social medias, but how do you expect to grow up and mature this way? After yesterday's Elden Ring DLC reveal, I was looking into Elden RIng's lyrics, and stumbled into your video. It was enlightening to learn it's mostly gibberish, but perhaps there is a little bit more to it. Among the transcribed gibberish, there was a particular phrase that stood out to me: "seki no tori." On the second verse, it sounds more like "seki no torii"; depending on how this is written in Japanese, it can mean "the location's gateway." This brings me to yesterday's DLC video, where Miquella's egg is shown intently in the beginning. Could it be that Miquella's egg is the key or portal to access the Land of Shadow? If so, this would make these "gibberish" lyrics not so gibberish anymore!

I had a suspicion that it would be like this, since so many people dish up such vastly different results still that´s quite a disappointment - it´s almost like since Latin is a language so foreign to people in general it´s all the more easier to just throw some syllables and have peoples automatic word association do the rest...

When I revealed the song of lament's lyrics and translation to the world 3 months ago, I had high hopes to find even more Latin songs in the game; then when I glanced through the other official lyrics I was given, I got frustrated; but hey, most of Nier games' song lyrics don't mean anything either and they are still great. Music conveys the story through its sounds, no need for meaningful lyrics, such is its power ^^ I've published Godskin Apostles official lyrics recently by the way.
@umukzusgelos48342 жыл бұрын
@@AntoniusTertius yeah... but especially after Bloodborne, which has at least 2 songs containing meaningful/cryptic lyrics like Hail the Nightmare or Laurence the First Vicar I expected a bit more complexity from them, especially since those pseudo lyrics is something they keep carrying their soundtrack with since Dark Souls III where there is hardly a song that is not blasting some stylized "eys ehooss saaaaanctiii...." at you, shoving all the other instruments in the arrangement aside Sakuraba back in the day was a bit more reserved with this and some of his songs likerally just oh "oh oh oh oh oh" on you, but I feel like like the newer composers like Kitamura or Saitoh use it so much it get´s boring over time for how ambitious and expensive this game sells it´self I at least expected that kind of stuff but hey maybe I´m asking too much...

It is honestly sad that there are no meaningful lyrics.... Still, I appreciate the work and your intentions. You don't want delude or make others pass as stupid people, you just want to share the truth. For the next video, could you leak anything "meaningful" or maybe the godskin apostles one (who even got a lore video, lol)? I feel like it's right to acknowledge that the majority of songs have no meaning in the lyrics, but it would be cool to hear some lyrics that have words with meaning, even though they could be in wrong Latin. Also, as a side note, did you remember that thread you and I had in Ilas' video about the Rykard lyrics? In which I said that Mohg probably had some Greek lyrics? If you're curious about what I heard: -at 1:04 something like "oneirati ta" -starting from 1:11, randomly put togheter words like "oh diploos (diplous), su (sou) diploos, diploos". -at 1:18 something like "tu (tou) haimato(I know that the sigma is lacking for the genitive) ti" -1:25 finally, something like "akuontes, akuete" (or the inverse). I just heard them, but I know that they don't make sense, but they did a good job at resembling ancient languages.
@AntoniusTertius2 жыл бұрын
I intend to leak the godskin apostles official lyrics at last. As of meaningful lyrics, there's a problem: the only other track in the game that I found out it had meaning hidden in its lyrics is the one that had its lyrics altered, now they are in faux Latin and the guy who wrote them don't want to reveal their meaning due to the 'contract', so I have the lyrics, but I can't translate them because they are no longer in proper Latin; that guy doesn't even tell me what the words and syllables altered so that I can track back the original Latin text. I'll keep insisting though. Very interesting passages you cited there. The more ancient languages a person knows the more these lyrics can confuse him. That 'sapro' from Malenia lyrics made me think about ancient Greek for a moment, but then again, all gibberish they are. Thank you for being here ^^

@@AntoniusTertius that's pretty sad... Could you at least say mihi which song is that? Just a curiosity, I will not try to "get" to the composer and say to him to publish the lyrics (how could I even do it?). But let me guess, it's the final battle? Or Godfrey's (I definitely hear something like "spirito colebatur", but that's just me I guess)?
@AntoniusTertius2 жыл бұрын
@@lorenzo8208 Everyone can reach out to the music producers, the problem is that person doesn't want to reveal the meaning behind those lyrics that were made 'faux Latin' in the end. It is indeed one of those two you cited. Spirito colebatur? Where? Are you sure?
@lorenzo82082 жыл бұрын
@@AntoniusTertius something like 0:18 (on Godfrey's song obviously) Although I hear more "colebato" than the other, and spirito should've been spiritu (although it can be spirito). In time the first phase of this track became my favourite Elden Ring music. It's so powerful, even without the choir (that's the Omen Illusion music from the OST), but the choir adds the extra feeling. One thing: after "crofito" at 1:25 I just can't hear "rivano", it's rather "ravone" I hear. But I belive your lyrics. Any chance for Radahn lyrics one day? I'm so curious, the first phase of Radahn's theme is another favourite of mine.

The gothic choir does enhance the epicness of it all :) The choir sings ri-va-no quickly then "Tri" for a longer time. Those are not my lyrics, I received them from a person who worked in the music department of Elden Ring along with many other lyrics, Radahn's were not one of them... I could ask for those lyrics, but I don't know, I don't mean to disturb that person again for the time being. I didn't publish all the lyrics I received, maybe you'd be happy if I published them?

They did that on purpose... Do you know Nier games? There are lots of songs there with nonsensical lyrics as well because the creator didn't want the songs to have real lyrics in order not to distract the players... Ironic, is it not? This kind of thing is more common in games and media than you think. Even in Cowboy Bebop you'll find songs with that kind of lyrics.

I mentioned NieR Chaos language in the Godskin Apostles official lyrics video. I do prefer the usage of a fictitious language to grammatically mistaken Latin lyrics. In Elden Ring, most songs don't have real lyrics, but Latin was used in some parts, it is an European medieval fantasy kind of world after all. I have videos about it.
