I'll leave some tips without spoilers for you. The first would always be to explore the areas well and collect all items, the game rewards you well for that (sometimes). The second would be for you to read the description of the items, many will have "mysterious" descriptions but some will tell you what it does in the description. The third is always to talk to the npcs again after advancing in the game, you may have reached the point to progress in the quest and all that's left is to talk to the npc to continue. The fourth would be to be careful with the panic rolls, it depletes stamina in an instant and is probably the biggest cause of death in souls games. The fifth is that many of the closed doors are shortcuts. And lastly, most of the mobs will be enemies, but sometimes there will be some "friendly ones", try to approach them and see if they attack you before attacking.

The ashes are like the bells in Elden ring and give the shop new items and the kiln u got from the great wood can be used to get bossweapons from their souls

Also should be noted, unlike elden ring, you can't duplicate the boss soul, meaning, if you wanna get both items you gotta new game+

If you want to increase ur estus flasks then try to find some estus shards to level up your estus flask to +1 until +10 get undead bone shards it will increase the amount u heal and gain fp

A good weapon in my opinion is the deep battle axe which you can get battling the mimic chest in the high wall just behind the door under the dragon that breathes fire at you it is fast but easy to beat so in my opinion I suggest you to get it that one weapon alone carried me from high wall all the way to irithyll dungeon and I’m about to fight that boss soon

The elevator where you find seigward goes up and down if you trigger the button then get off the next time the elevator comes back you will be able to go up to a new area with seigward

Try to collect all the items, focus on bigger white item. This game doesnt have clear color for special item like Elden Ring. The fact that you keep running away from enemy make you miss tons of valuable items (mateial for weapon and potion upgrade, talismans, heck even weapon geasse). This game really enjoy putting rare items in conner of places

*sighs… I have a story about the curse rotted great wood. Pls while your listening know that this is not an easy story to tell. During my play through of dark souls 3 I was super exited about the abyss watchers. I thought tho that I had to fight the curse rotted great wood to get to them. No shit I fought that shitty ass boss with its exploding balls for 2 MONTHS with 15 vigor and a deep battle axe. I very nearly quit playing after that happened. I think we can all tell that I took a long break after that. So the lesson here? NEVER FIGHT THIS TERRIBLE BOSS! THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON!
