If anyone is struggling to keep their fp up with all this casting you can use the sacrificial axe. It has a passive ability that restores fp when you kill something, so against hordes of low health enemies it can halve the cost of your incantations when using aoe abilities.

@@HiTxMaN93 if you want to use it as a weapon then sure, but you still get the fp buff even if you don't meet the strength requirement. my buddy has been using it as a secondary weapon since he has enough carry weight. If you don't have enough carry weight to mid roll with two weapons equipped the axe becomes far more situational, but it's still nice to have in your inventory.

That is what i've being doing, quality-faith build with dragonfire and now lightning spear. It does need a lot of stats so it's bound to be weak level-wise but it's fun, has both AoE, short range and long range options.

I did a Castlevania build, took some running around and dying but at level 12 i started playing as a confessor with a steel chained flail w/ sacred flame buff, and a whip with the blood blade buff. I used the radagan's talisman to give me +5 to str/end/dex so I could use the flail. I also ran and got the missionary's cookbooks so I can lob holy and fire bombs. Its been a ton of fun.

I did a hybrid of this and a str/faith build. Started as Hero. Here's what I did before the first story boss: -faith to 15 -arcane to 12 -killed swamp dragon for a heart -picked up dragon fire from the shrine -vigor to 20 and mind to 15 -picked up morningstar (or any bleed weapon) -killed mother dragon for 5 hearts and runes -strength to 20, end to 20, faith to 17 for (lightning) -spend runes in whatever else -pick up all dragon spells from the church with 12 arcane requirement (rot/magic/frost) - go find a beefy 2 hand weapon Proceed to breath fire/rot/magic/frost throw lightning and smash everything in your path as you work towards these stats: 40 vigor, 40 str, 40 faith, 17 arc, add 25+ in endurance/mind however you wish. Rot is stupid OP against anything it works on and stacks with other status!

Important thing to note is that the roar medalion is not for Dragon Breath attacks and does not buff those. It instead buffs stuff like the War Cry Ash of War on battle axes. I would suggest getting something to buff incantations instead

I’ve built a really effective blood assassin build, dex/arcane with two daggers, one with Reduvia and the other with a bleed infusion. Bows with poison arrows and effects arrows, arcane sets status on those with barrage and I stack bleed with Reduvia mid range attack. On top of that, there is a medallion from limgrave that gives you life every time you backstab or break stance goes great with this build. It’s been really effective! I was planning on running dragon priest on PC and I saw this guide, just in time! Thank you.

Tip for new characters: you can kill the sleeping dragon in calied and get five dragon hearts and skip killing that dragon and pick up three dragon incants at the alter in limgrave without killing anything but the guys in coastal cave. Also grab the morning star hammer from the back of the wagon from weeping peninsula and can kill the dragon faster with the bleed passive.

There is an axe that drops from the giant death bird over by castle morne. If you have it in your offhand, it recoups fp for each enemy killed. The giant archer stuns the boss as well. Keep the bird between you and the archer and you can get easy critical hits.

If anyone isnt satisfied with just the fire breath or they want more, i suggest looking up how to get 75k runes easy, which also nets 5 dragons hearts and then find the other dragon alter thing, and there are way more breaths. The scarlet rot breath works wonders

There's a easier way to obtain a dragon heart in fact you can 5 from a single one go to third Marika's church grace site it's just north of the waypoint ruins site find the teleport stone just outside the church you'll spawn in greyrolls dragon barrow head south until you come across a grace site the cross the bridge ignoring the dragon after crossing follow the road west til you come at a fork head south east and you should come across fort faroth grace site there's a giant dragon just down the hill that doesn't do anything and can't attack you go behind it's left wing and attack it til it dies you'll want to use a bleeding weapon cause the dragon has a ton of health and being able to cause blood loss on it will help make the process faster the dragon cannot harm you and once it's dead you'll get 5 dragon hearts and 100k runes

This is great, thank you. Something I do struggle with is what armour to aim for in these builds. After some experimentation I understand the medium vs heavy rolling, but some key armour items would be great, like the crowns for mages etc.

It depends, what i came to realize was as a tank i was using heavy load, and being in heavy load increases your poise so you dont get flinched, using a colossal weapon i can sweep through enemies and take mininal damage.

@@hawkgaming3029 you never really want to be heavy rolling. So as a tank, to wear the heaviest armor, you would push Endurance to up your Equip Load so that you are at least medium rolling. The heavier the roll the less invulnerable frames to get hit. Lighter roll = more s meaning you're safer.

With my eye on the Dragon Knight and magic dragon knight builds on this channel - instead of this caster oriented build I went with shield and spiked club and dragon communion seal. Also using flame sling and dragon fire. This gives me good range and AoE but I can also block counter and stun with the club. I also have enough equipment load to also dual wield with the morning star / spiked club. Truly a solid early game setup that flows well into the “dragon knight” setup. Only down side is I didn’t put as many points into mind early on. At lvl 20 on this character and bosses are a breeze and co op is awesome since I can melt or bleed invaders and bosses :)

Roar Medallion works on everything except Dragon spells. Yes, it's worthless. Also, if you use the Dragon Communion Seal, this scales to an insane degree with Arcane, much better than Faith.

One more weapon to thing about - the Cipher Pata. Fist weapon that requires 30 faith, scales with faith and deals only Holy damage. good things about it: bypasses physical res- great for heavy armored foes, different damage type than fire and lightning, costs 0fp to attack. uses barely any stamina to attack, has a weapon art that's and unblockable hit - bye bye shield users and... weghs 0lbs so it doesn't affect your load. has a pretty damn cool look to boot :)

Might I suggest keeping way more blue flasks and keeping the heal incantation so you don't get punished as much. Without many tears in the beginning, it feels more cost effective. It just takes a bit longer to get off than drinking a flask so don't go all blue. Maybe 1 or 2 red

Using this now and just got the Dragonlord sword and breath attack for flare. Kind of a nameless thing style. Really fucking squishy though, but having met the requirements and then some for the weapons and most spells I wanted, I can dump it into health and carry weight

Dragon Communion Seal Tip: To get it you can just jump down the first stairs into the poison pool, sprint and wait the chariot. Then follow it and get into the 2nd left hiding spot, L1+R1R1 the enemy there and wait for it to go back up, then sprint to the 3rd rightmost hiding spot and just walk off the ledge. From there you can just sprint Down, Left, Right, Right and you arrived at the spot. Crouch in the room and wait for the chariot to kill all enemies outside. When it spins right outside the room, you can count to 5, aggro the miniboss and sprint outside to hide. He will be dead after the chariot rolls it over. You have around 18 seconds for the chariot to make the whole loop from top to bottom and back so time it if you wish.

I just came off a sekiro binge as a long standing souls fan. It's amazing as to how well sekiro can set you up for Elden ring. More so than usual for past souls games imo. I'd recommend ds2. Dark Souls 2 was PS3 Elden ring. So many elements in sekiro are straight out of ds2. Fuck anyone that says ds2 wasn't the best souls game. 1 had coolest bosses 2 had best level design and variety 3 was TRASH! That shit was trash!!! It had great lore at least. Level design was great but lacking in variety.

I killed him with a club right out the gate. You wait until the dragon breathes fire then swoop in, bash his head/legs, go back in front of him, wait for him to breathe fire again and repeat. If you're patient and hangout right in front of him it's not too bad

@@georgiecastilla28 I actually managed to bring him down. There is a pattern to him. Circle around him with the mount and dont get too close because he will start to fly. When he is about to do a breath attack small flames starts to form at his mouth thats the time to rush in and hit his wing or legs 1-2 times and get out quickly. Try to get out from his sides rather than back because he will attack with the tail. When you rush in stick to the left (his right) because he always sweeps his breath attack from left (your right) to right so its a perfect opportunity. If you have a faith build you can use catch flame its pretty good damage on him. Hope this helps. I suck at this game too so you are not alone😁👍

I do have a Prophet with Catch Flame, and my seal is +2 now, so that might help. Last attempt I was doing pretty well, but I galloped too close to the tunnel entrance, and SURPRISE, a giant crab came from underground and terminated me. This game has no mercy at all. Hahahaha!

@@georgiecastilla28 Yeah I know exactly what you mean! I constantly need to remind myself that fights are supposed to be slow and methodical. I often get super stressed and just spam attacks like crazy and then just panic when they are not dead and just dodge around all over the place untill I run out of stamina, I also use mouse and keyboard because I dont have a controller so Im an absolute disaster at this game lol. If someone like me can kill the dragon then you are guaranteed to make it😁👍

My one issue with this build is the use of Catch Flame. This incantation's range in non-existent and will often get newer players killed due to that, especially if they have to face mobs that operate in groups such as wolves. My personal recommendation is to make a beeline for the Round Table Hold as soon as possible to get the Flame Sling incantation. At the cost of a slightly slower cast time, a single point of extra FP cost per cast, and requiring a slightly higher Faith stat, you get a decent ranged option.

I found a kind of guard counter with Catch Flame very powerful. Just get a 100% shield, block an enemy's attack and set him on fire. Lure the enemies to you one at a time.

I think all the spells you get from hearts qualify as Dragon Communion incantations, not Roar/Breath incantations

Like the guides, well done. Little concerned because VAST majority of gameplay (I think off it?) showcased are for ULTRA early game enemies and content. From what I watched here, this build would get shredded by all the super fast and unrelenting enemies mid way through the game

You want your faith at 25 at the most (for golden vow) then the stat you really want is arcane because the dragon communion seal scales better with that

I'm doing a similar character and I noticed the FP scaling is different now too, but I haven't played much since last year. What I'm thinking of doing instead of getting normal dragons breath, get Agheels flame instead. Go kill Grayoll, get all the runes and dragon hearts and then go to Caelid to get it for 2 hearts. Wiki says it only requires 15 Arcane and 23 Faith.

Confimrming the roar medalion observations: I used Rotten Breath on a the Secluded Chamber Giant both with and without the medallion, and the damge output was the same.

I personally like to use reduvia as my melee weapon for this build because it scales with arcane, is an overall good weapon, and looks like a dragon’s fang

im 40 dex 40 faith rn with the winged scythe and just running heals and buffs and it feels awesome. that ore blade could be cool in an int build i havent really played with it.

So I tried the medallion mentioned in this video. The thing I noticed is that it caused Poise breaks to happen more often with what it effects. This is best as a boss or pvp type gear as when they try to approach you in a rush, they can't dodge the breath or still get caught if they do dodge some. Additionally something to note is the Scarlet Rot breath & maybe the Icy Breath can dangerous to take from anyone doing a bleed build due to the Dragon Seal's scaling.

I’ve been building something similar but inise confessor and instead of catch flame I use black flame, dragon breath and the crucible dragon tail or horn. High faith/mind with a mid splash of dex. I use uchikatana with sacred blade, and maybe the halo scythe. So much fun. Dragon Jedi or dragon spell blade

You should make some type of Tank Caster build where you just use incantations like Beast claw or the other Melee or other close ranged Damaging spells. Ya know so that we can still pump out damage as a caster without having to play the distance game, plus the need to put stats into weapons would be gone allowing us to just kinda dump into Vigor, Mind, and Faith.

It exists a headpiece called the golden Scarabeus. U find it by find the painter from the house an stormhill. The painter is in on the cliff on the south beach in limgrave. There where the grave are. It lowers it fp but lower it defends

Prisoner is a good starter for that. Glintstone arc is a good starting spell for larger groups since it passes through them.

Sacred blade is double effect, you shoot out a pretty good projectile and also get a short lived buff to your weapon.

Great video as always! Just a suggestion but I think it would be really cool to see a summoner/necromancer build that stays back a buffs up a team to fight for them, it might could be fun.

I think the only problem with that build is summons are limited in where you gat...summon them can't be used everywhere or all the time.

you can bait the knight to get killed by the chariot trap pretty easily also you can get the hp stam endurance talisman down there without fighting if you can dodge well

Always excellent quality content! Started watching back on Divinity OS 2 and have been enjoying ever since! For this game, is it possible to have a "sword/board + a solid ranged option" (i.e. a bow or magic)? I want to play something like a knight, maybe with medium armor so I can still be decently agile, but maybe also with a good projectile. No idea if that's possible. A video on that could be really cool! And thanks for what you have so far!

There's already the samurai which is melee and has a bow, so I don't see any reason you cant swap the katana for a sword and shield and the armor for more "knight" armor

Fextralife has kind of already covered that with the Spellblade and Samurai guides. I'd personally recommend with starting as Prisoner although if you really want to start with heavy armour, you could start with Vagabond, add intelligence later and buy/find the spells and staves you need.

Good build, early levels is hard because you have to get super close to do damage with the flame
