20:50 the crucible knights and hoarah loux were in the lands between before marika arrived and claimed godhood. she enlisted them and married hoarah loux, then used them as her strike force to slay her enemies. once that was done, she tossed them all aside and left the crucible knights to die off, along with their worship of the primordial crucible. it's theorized that the old fort in leyndell, the building that becomes the roundtable hold, was hoarah loux's fort and that the weapons lodged in the table belong to him and the crucible knights, before they were all anointed and became elden lord and knights, of course.

In dark souls 1 you're undead in 2 you're cursed in 3 you're the ashen remains of a champion who failed to link the fire and was resurrected to kill champions who linked the fire and the considered good ending is to let the fire keeper let the fire finally die

Maybe Marika and Radagon were the same originally then were split and then having two bodies each gained their own selves who now didn't necessarily agree with each other regarding the Order..

I was just saying that I like that a lot of the story can be up for interpretation while at the same time being consistent. There are definitely things that we just can't know for sure at this point.

Dark Souls explains why you can't die as well: you're already dead. You're a zombie powered by your own willpower. As long as you have the will to continue you will always come back, but if your will falters you become Hollow and lose all traces of yourself becoming a mindless monster that feeds on souls. It's a clever way of tying your character to the players own will to win, as long as you keep playing you never really lose, the second you give up? Well you aren't playing the game any more so your character is effectively "dead." In Bloodborne you're essentially Freddy Kruger, literally a dream being brought into the real world. As long as the Hunter's Dream exists and you remain part of it you can never really die. After all you can't really die in dreams.

Marika made everyone and everything eternal and in the process, made the lands between an eternal harvesting ground for souls for the Erdtree thus the Greater Will.

Dang so the greater will is just trying to feed itself souls? It's like a parasite for the land.

If Marika and Radagon are an alchemy reference then I would have to say both interpretations are correct to some extent. Through Putrefaction and Purification the Red King and White Queen are formed and through their marriage they form into the divine Rebis and the Philosopher’s Stone can be obtained. In other words, while they were originally one, it’s only through separation and reconversion that perfection can be reached. Not that it did any good if what happens in the game is any indication. 😂

Definitely recommend watching the other elden ring videos by vaati, he just released a new video that basically talks through the entire ranni questline while explaining the surrounding lore such as glintstone sorceries

Yes you are correct the crucible knights do follow the old religion, well, until the golden order took over and their boss married Marika, but the golden wings are powers of the crucible

Ah ok. I made an assumption on the wings because they were gold. I suppose the golden order doesn't have a monopoly on the color...

Looking at it you’re kind of right. Bloodborne and Elden Ring are very similar. It’s just that Elden Ring has alchemy references instead of Lovecraftian references.

I’ll have to correct you a bit. George R.R. Martin only did some background story stuff for the game, the thing as a whole is still FromSoftware.

Yes I learned this from another comment. I was giving George RR Martin way too much credit for writing. I see now that he only did some world building but everything else is basically the From Software team doing their thing. Which is honestly good because they do a great job. I don't know that they needed to change anything.

You can do it. I rocked a faith build and eventually got through it with Black Knife Tiche and some luck. Phase 2 is not for the faint of heart.
