Elden Ring - Smithing Stone 3 and rune farming - Under 1 minute per run

This is what I’m looking for, a level 3 smithing stone farm. I haven’t yet got to the capital I think its called which is we’re the bell is thag I can’t get yet

For sure this is a great early strategy. Also if you are lower level the runes gained from these enemies is pretty good!

I got a drop the first time I killed these guys, but neither of them dropped a smithing stone. Then I continued trying for probably 20 minutes, and they never dropped anything again.

Same. I got a Smithing Stone 3 the 1st time and ~1600 runes every other time for a total of over 2 hours. I tried restarting the game then restarting my PC. No joy...

If the runes that get sucked into your body are yellow/gold there’s no drop, if they’re blue there will be a drop.

I found that the best way to deal with the 3 flame chariots is to proceed anti-clockwise around the ruins, so that player can easily sneaky stab the pilots. More safe and saves time.

A small tip: If the enemy you just killed shoots out a blue light, that means that they dropped loot, if not they didn’t drop anything

Just some notes.. There are three of those carriage enemies and if you go right instead of left.. you can stealth kill the first , and second ones.. and then a head-head fight for the third. It's more more efficient that way. Also, the backstab works if are you standing to the left side of the enemy (because it's your right hand weapon that will kill).

@@Dragongaming-ws7bm Yes, but the drops are rare. Once you've cleaned out the Raya Lucaria crystal mine (it has 8), a better use of time is completing a mercy run to the sealed tunnel. Get the dectus medallion (the two halves from Fort Haight and Fort Garoth) and hammer it to the cave at the foot of Leyendell. Don't worry about clearing out enemies, you should be able to run past 90% of the mobs. After that you'll be able to go back to enjoying the game without this clunky constraint dampening your fun.

Tried to edit but safari would not cooperate. What I wanted to add is tha you don’t have to kill bosses you didn’t know even existed let alone locate and defeat. This the grace sight is clearly mentioned is in our natural progression through the level.

This is really useful, thanks. I noticed these guys dropped stone 3 so i was looking online to see if there was a better location. Apparently not. These flame vehicles do show up elsewhere in Caelid buy in the other locations they are further from a site of grace and also drop a lot of other crap, so your chance of getting a stone is less. Another decent location is the big dog/soldier fight in southern Caelid. The soldiers drop stone 3. However, it's considerably more dangerous and the drop rate is less.

A good place to farm Smithing Stone 3, 4, and 5, is at the 9th Mt. Gelmir Composite grace. There are loads of soldiers in the village ahead. They're moaning, not fighting. Easy kills and constant drops.

I must say that the flame chariots drop rate for the stone 3 it's quite rare I did that for like an hour and only got like 5 and that was with the silver pickle foot for item discovery but the runes was good went from level 20 to 50 just doing that and got my weapon to 8

I found that killing the closest one to the right then running back to the grace is the easiest and fastest tactic to farm this place.

Useful little guide. Took me about 10+ rounds though. Was only getting melted mushrooms and some other thing. Just when I was about to give up went for one more try and finally one Smithing 3 dropped which is what I needed to make one more I needed. Wish could have gotten more though.

Tip: you can attack them from above to do a unique critical attack that insta kills them regardless of your weapon

When enemies drop something brighter white lines are emitted as opposed to the fizzle of little sparks right? Not sure if that applies here but if so you could significantly cut down your run time by moving along to the 2nd one without hesitation. Hope that helps, and if these guys don't do it I'd still try to commit this tip to memory as it has saved me a decent chunk of time between enemies

Thank you for the farming location video. I did learn one thing from my farming time and that is that these guys are basically blind. I was able to stealth up to them pretty easily and backstab both of them. It helps prevent getting agroed by the burning boomers since the first guy likes to fire his cannon, which slides himself back to the wall which has the burn pile on the opposite side of it.

You can actually climb the first brick wall and do a plunge attack on this first one. It will instantly kill it.

I don't get level 3 stones here, but the runes make up nicely. I get about 6k or 7k each go round of this place...the enemies are easy (really don't need to fight them, they blow up themselves), and there's a bunch of them. When each enemy is worth 25, taller ones are 81, that adds up quickly...then you throw in the 1600 rune "tanks"...oh yeah, cash money 🤑 💸 Edit: my initial estimate was wrong...way wrong!! Today I started this place with only 6 runes. After one go through (no money gold scarab or foot usage), I ended with 13,471 runes. Minus the six I had prior to starting, the brings it to 13,465 killing everything and the 3 "tanks". So if you use a golden foot or scarab, you can mine the crap out of this place!

Grossie!? Been watching you for years. I thought I had pinned a comment that it may have changed as this video is almost 8 months old. Your best bet at this stage in the game is to unlock the traders that sell all of the stones. There are plenty of guides on where to unlock them. Good luck on the elden ring grind!

How do you perform that backstab?? I tap light attack and that's all it does. Heavy just pokes but doesn't do that backstab animation or damage

Never mind. So you have to be at a short distance while pressing light attack in order to activate backstab.

Another method is going to the mine North of fort Gael (tunnel Gael)and kill the miners. Use maces or blunt weapons to defeat them in a few hits. Keep in mind that you need to be careful of redmanes around the area

yea i tried this and im level 60 and just died because he does this spin fire attack and also my greatsword never hits the guy driving just the wood even when im locked on. and i always get hit by his charge even if i 100% fully dodge it where no fire or anything hits me i still take damage so i literally am forced to use the horse or die

Pretty sure the boost resets when you rest at a grave and the gold one is just for runes, you need the silver one for item discovery Thanks for the vid though :)

It was very low when I did this maybe 10-15? But I’m not quite sure. Also it seems to work better for some than others and I’m not sure why. There has been several patches since I posted this so I’m also not sure if drop rates were effected.

I've run 4 before without any but then you can get 2 in one run. Meant to be short runs and done multiple times over. Keep at it for a half-hour or so and you certainly end up with some.
