I'm using a frenzied flame build with the seal, the spear and incantations up to 22 faith (might move up to 33 when I hit lvl 100), and they're awesome alongside the spear.

Bonus of investing in incantations is the spear scales with faith and mind builds focus which negates the madness buildup from your own attacks.

Placidus ruin is so good if you can keep them at a distance that final swipe up of the laser 6/10 times will hit and finish someone off.., however if you get their health low enough and hit the spell when they’re close to you the AOE of the lightening burst will INSTANTLY give you the match

Completely off topic but i cant find an answer anywhere. Are there any questlines that I can get locked out of?? Like could I complete rannis quest, get to the final boss, and then go back and finish everyone else's questlines to get their rewards? I just don't wanna miss out on bosses and items that could be time gated

Here is a really good spell combo: Adula's Moonblade, followed by a Glintstone Cometshard (More FP efficient, faster cast time and has around a 40-70 dmg difference compared to Comet) and then the ash of war on the Regal Carian Scepter. Does minimum 2000 Damage, if you get a frostbite proc then around 2400.

Good list but I gotta throw the Great Moon + Dark Moon combo in, good range, it tracks deceptively well, and you get that cold build up. Also, how can you not mention the absolute best spell in the game, the one that never fails to do what it does, the spell of champ? Glinstone Pebble my boy.

What would you say is the optimal amount of HP for casters on the 150 lv bracket?

I'm 150 spellsword and I have 47 vigor. I think anywhere from 40 to 50 would be good. I also have radagons sorseal and erd tree favor +2 so those help a lot. Vigor is very important since a lot of weapons do very high damage.

You forgot tons of useful sorcerys swift glinstone shard is a must for any mage pvp build 150 to 200 damage quick mage bolts are very intimidating especially since u can dash and use the spell also jump and where is carian slicer the other mage spell that can be used while jumping and dashing

Beastial sling can also combo into other spells (so can catch flame). If you cue your next spell while casting sling, say… beast claw, your claw cast will actually come out faster. Not sure of all the spells that can do this, it would be nice if there was a list somewhere

When invading, Stars of Ruin is such a nuisance from defender side, since it's essentially guaranteed damage and especially poise damage which is safe and easily spammable. Literally found myself here trying to figure out exactly what spell it was that was doing that. It's just a lot of free pressure against an already numbers-disadvantaged invader if defenders have that.

From what I’ve heard, (though I’m not sure) apparently none tracking incantations like honed bolt and lightning spear won’t get sucked into the Eternal Darkness spell. Although I’m not sure if, by saying a “counter”, you were actually referring to the eternal darkness spell itself having a counter spell or incantation, much like how golden retaliation is a move specifically to counter spells and incantations, or if you actually did mean that every spell and incantation can get sucked into Eternal Darkness.

Doesn't break lock on but does hide your character, so you could cast a spell with the opponent not seeing

I’ve found lightning spear is also very good for punishing spells with long casts like elden stars, stars of ruin, and especially the rot breath, it’ll knock them right on their ass, and you can do it on reaction if you have the spell readied

That adulas moonblade dmg is low. You can hit 1,000 easily without the multihit its disgusting dps with the cast speed staff allow fully charged shots to go off at the same speed as taps. Plus you can proc status.

While I do enjoy some of your videos in the past, I'm not sure if you have used most of these spells in PVP. When your a tenured souls player and you mention PVP I am to assume you mean your not twinkling and fighting people on a relatively similar level. Placidusax ruin in a top 10 for PVP ? I have seen it once and I immediately killed him after he used it the 2nd time because its very obvious he is animation locked. At least something like the insect swarm has tracking and can be devastating against the 9/10 bleed builds. It almost seems like yougot 5 or 6 decent spells and than kinda slapped a few other good looking ones which is surprising for someone who has been doing souls videos for as long as you to have to resort to this. If you have sling on the list you should have included some of the quick combos that come from it as well and included that on this list because of its power. Sling and honed bolt have been a decent combo for people in my low level range and seem MUCH better than eternal darkness. All in all half decent video but just watching other people pvping it seems like only half of this list is actually relevant where the other half is either slapped on or subjective preference.

Ruin comes out instantly and deals over a thousand damage and is a true combo with colossal sword crouch poke giving you a guaranteed 1500 plus damage if you land a single poke. Just because you find people that don't know how to utilize it does not mean it's a bad spell

@@FightinCowboy I dont seem to recall you mentioning or showcasing that as that would be a much better reason to why it is on your list rather than just being your personal favorite and the initial explosion. You also highlight that you are attacking people who panic roll which would make it even stronger, based on that point yes it seems like a bad spell because as soon as someone knows its weakness than its easily countered and even puts YOU in danger. You must be aware that your videos are not targeted at people that already know the ins and outs of souls pvp so I had not considered a weapon class (your comment on the colossal sword) I have never used being the reason it is on your list. Maybe watch your own videos as if you know nothing about pvp and you will understand why my comment along with a few other similar ones I've notest exist. Im unsure if you discussed this specific combo in another video but I that should not be a factor unless highlighted. just because you understand advanced combos and trick doesn't mean your viewers do.

I mentioned the potency of the spell and even outside the Greatsword combo it's still a fantastic finisher all around. What other spell allows you to do an instant 1000+ damage aoe while jumping? @@juniorelizondo4144 Not yet… just got pest threads to try out, but it was a bit of a hassle to get. I’ll let you know once I try it out, but I honestly don’t see how it could go wrong in pvp. Spammable due to low fp costs, pretty fast casting plus probably even faster with a talisman and overall pretty decent. Only thing is you’d probably want to have good faith considering the low dmg to make more utility out of that as well.

that'll all work itself out in time. most players are no where near even beating the game and it will take a couple months for pvp to really work itself out i feel like so i'd say get your first guy to at least 150 so you can play a fun build then respec or make a new character if a meta level really settles later. the old levels are too low for this game and i'm hearing most people chilling around 150 by the time they're beating the game. i just killed elden beast today at 129, gonna clear out the haligtree area and enjoy pvp for a week or 2 before i got straight into ng+

not going to lie as a pure mage build it's underwhelming...i suggest rollin melee...unless you're playing vs someone that's brain dead you can literally roll out of every spell while you roll to you and we're out geared...caster's gear set basically maxes by mid game...while melee get legendaries and overtuned items in end game that pretty much outscale casters...if you really just want to go casting Faith or Arcane builds are best right now...not pure int builds..we don't out dmg any1 unless they stand still lol our strongest abilities are useless in pvp and we're required HIGH investment into int to even get those spells they progress us in PVE.

There is only one spell that matters: the one that sets you on fire. Let’s you use eclipse sotel to make a death aura. Let’s you use Elden great shield to machine gun people at will. Done 5 invasions and all 5 were using one or both tactics. It’s literally unbeatable. I would avoid PvP until it is fixed.

@@elitericeeater no. You can’t really. Because they can easily switch between death aura and machine gun shield instantly. It all stems from the same spell. If you try to range them with spells (assuming you aren’t using this toxic build as well) they can hide behind a great shield that can reflect your spells while machine gunning you. If you try to close in, they can still pepper you with blasts and then switch to shotel and kill you without even attacking. It takes literally no skill at all. Edit: machine gun shield doesn’t even use FP to blast you.
