Welcome! That's freaking awesome.. I met an older gentleman in Destiny 2 once as well. Pretty sassy older man but.. anyway: I recommend Bloodborne if you ever get tired of this one. It's an amazing game, albeit quite different. A piece of advice or knowledge if you ever get there: in Bloodborne, the gun in your left is for timed parries, not damage per se. So while it seems useless it isn't. It'll make many encounters less torturous.. especially the brick trolls.

Finally someone that can go from A to B while getting stuff in between. Its hard to follow some videos when they are flying literally flying to get there. This video is intended for me (I get lost so many times even with the map) . This is easy to follow, PLEASE keep it this way I really enjoy it. Just so you know I am not the typical gamer LOL. Yes I'm a grandma gamer but been playing since before my sons were born (eldest son is 30 already :)) and my speed and eyesight is not the same as before. Don't use the carian knight sword or the lazulite sword! Any other regular sword that allows to change the scaling and put magic scaling on it is better. You cant change the scaling on both those swords and at maxed they both dont go over D for magic scaling. One of the worst options for a magic build

The Kris dagger is good for later game if you enjoy this moveset. Some upgrades from the Lazuli Glintstone Sword are that the pebble is harder hitting and in the dagger is chargeable, it scales higher in dexterity and intelligence, which is a very common mage combo, and as a cherry on top, it is less than half the weight, and has a slightly higher critcial attack.

@@thomasroman7011 Check out Demons Souls remake dude. First Souls game I completed and it's a damn good experience. Levels are kind of linear so no open world, but you have 5 different worlds with several levels inside of them. The graphics, areas, architecture and atmosphere are all absolutely incredible. You can be a mage by picking the Royalty class and it gets really fun once you can get hold of more spells. Hope you try it, it was my best gaming experience in ages!

@@PepeLePewPew Hey Dave, my biggest tip is just to remember that you can rest at the sites of grace to reset enemies, so don't be afraid to just farm up runes from easier enemies, then go rest and reset them and do it again to get yourself leveled up a bit. I was having a ton of trouble with even the beginner areas but I find the more I challenge myself (aka the more I die lol) the better I am slowly becoming.

Great video, thank you!! A few little things that you ran past. If you were helping ppl build better spell-swords. At the lake-facing cliffs, just down the hill in the church is a sacred tear, and the mage spell shop somethings to note to people. Since we would be running literally right past it. In the great room with hand spiders "that dont talk about" lol there are spells littered around in there. Also in the same room is the *Sword of night and flame* you get that sword a lot more accessible than the Lazuli Glintstone. after you've gone up stair to the next site of grace from the hands ,And to the blue phantoms.Look for a roof to jump down on to that has a hole in the top(at the rafters after the site of grace, head straight, then left, then right,and when you get to the next tower jump off the immdiate corner to the left on to a roof then down to a roof with a hole ) this lead to a simple room with a chest no craziness just a OP sword

The first time, they dropped a different sword that I couldn't use (it was one of the super heavy, tank swords and I'm a pure mage build). Do you know if the most recent patch fixed this because I went back and kill the wizards 4 times and only received runes after the first initial kill?

It’s worth noting that if you can also take down the troll which really isn’t difficult as long as you stay back, he drops the Troll Knight Sword which has some pretty impressive stats. One thing to keep in mind is that fast travelling cancels out the Silver-Pickled Fowl Foot's effect whereas just stopping at a Grace doesn't, so Raya Lucaria is better if you're using those. Also if you can kill them in one shot with a backstrab, Raya Lucaria would be way more consistent since that sorcerer is always walking past the doorway with his back to you on spawn

Can confirm. I spent hours trying to get the sword to drop at Manor. I gave up on it and went with Crystal Sword for a while. I was playing through Raya Lucaria and the sorceror dropped it the first time I killed him.

Also note you get a Golden Seed(baby Erdtree) and the Jellyfish summon and Stonesword Key (Shack at the Site of Grace, talk to Roderika and exhaust all her conversation options). There's also a Scarab with the Storm Wall Ash of War a little ways down from the cookbook guy on the ruined bridge and a Sacred Tear inside the church he ran past(as well as a guy selling basic Sorcery spells). There's a Glintstone craft book on that body at the Laskyar Ruins Site of Grace. Lastly you can hang a left at the entrance of Caria Manor and avoid all that horror on the main road, just watch out for Hands in the Ground, and adjacent to the path to the sword in this video is the path to the Sword of Night and Flame. PS the Silver Pickled Fowl Foot is for loot, Gold is for Runes.

Btw, if you do want to kill the giant, he can drop the Troll Knight's Sword. Don't know if he drops it often or not, just killed him once as he'll get stuck at the gateway, and gravity magic works wonders on him. First kill I got the sword, and the Troll Knight's sword. :) Great guide, btw. Nice and easy to follow! I just got the game a few days ago, and loving it so far. I've played and beaten all Soulborne games (Except for DS2, back during it's initial PS3 release where the hitboxes were so bad it was just too frustrating), and just got Platinum on Demon's Souls for the PS5 3-4 days ago. :) This game is WAY different than all of the other Soul games, but in a good way, I think. I have minor pet peeves, but mostly just because it's not exactly clear in the start how to progress the story (I played the first 2 days of buying the game with no guides/help, so it was on me, mostly). Anyways, thanks again for the detailed guide, and I also have a question for you - what's your intelligence stat irl? Since your British and all, you must be a wizard, yeah? ;)

The R2 is pretty useful if you want to trade blows with enemies. You still take a fair bit of damage but it can occasionally save you in fights.

Good walkthrough. I'd already made it to the general area, so that cut my travel time. But GEEZ! I hate rare drops. Been farming for over an hour and only thing that's dropped is a robe.

As someone that is playing a "Souls" game for the first time with Elden Ring, I was very intimidated by Elden Ring, I tried to build a character on my own and just got frustrated in my inexperience. You can farm quicker if you use the classroom site of grace (in the academy). Just outside the door, there is a swordsman sorcerer, and I think they are the only ones that drop the sword. The only pain is you have to steal the glintstone key from the dragon and do a lot of running till you get to the site.

Great guide! Many thanks! It might've been updated in the last 12 months but I've found that you need to walk all the way past the wolf in the last stage - don't sprint at all when you leave the building until you're more than halfway to the stairs or it will chase. Also kill the sorcerers then port back to the site of grace ASAP as the giant starts moving forward either way. 40 mins farming and I got a Luzuli robe, so looks like there's a range of stuff you can get.

Today is 5th May and you can still do this for the sword. It dropped on my 23rd clear. I also had the robes drop in my 13th clear. My only advice is level up your Int as much as you choose to help with killing the 3 npc's in as few a hits as possible. The Meteorite staff with the Rocks spell helps a lot. You can still get those where he says in his other vid. Happy farming 👍

Hidden trick! The charged heavy attack is also a guard, just as if you were two-handing it and held L1 but it will follow with an attack. The guard mitigation and boost are pretty poor, but it can let you trade shockingly well for a squishy mage.
