Not a word the church taught me in any setting helped deal with malignant narcissists. I have no idea how dealing with malignant narcissists and psychopaths in my family fits into the plan of salvation. The church in no way whatsoever taught me to recognize them, defend myself against them, escape them, or repair the damage they did, not just to me but to multiple generations. Heavenly Father set all of this up by placing them in my family but there's been nothing at all in the church to deal with the fallout. I have no idea how this ever works out to a happy eternal family and there's nothing in the scriptures or church doctrine or temple ceremony that explains it.

Hi,I hear you. So much of what we face isn’t specifically addressed in the scriptures or gospel. Not specifically. It’s hard but necessary to take the principles from the families in the scriptures and try and apply them to our lives. For example, All Alma says is that he was the vilest of all sinners. No one really talks about this. We only hear what an awesome guy he was. Well ok. I’ve been there so I know exactly what he meant by the vilest. My point being, there are nuggets like this all thru out the scriptures. To give us a hint or heads-up to where to go from here. We learn from Alma the steps he took to climb out of the pit he lived in. That is where the gospel comes in. The principles are for every challenge and lifestyle. I too get weary of trying to figure out life and the many strenuous unimaginable trials I’ve been thru. I had to study my trials, pray about them. Scream, cry, try, use my brain to figure them out. I had to fight. It’s not easy. There sometimes are none of the answer we want. So we do the best we can with what choices we have. There is nothing wrong with separating yourself from toxic people. I left a very abusive marriage. Took a long time to get away safely. There is not a roadmap in the scriptures for this. There is however the steps taken by others for different trials. The principles of the gospel. Prayer and trying our best to be obedient and praying to hear The Lord. To hear. To hear. To understand. And then to have courage beyond our own. I hope I have helped in some small way. I mean no harm to you. We have to keep going and have some kind of faith. I know it is hard. I do. You are not alone. I am 72 yo.

Married a narcissist- was warned in a blessing, “Do not marry him. He is a certain type of selfish that your society has a name for” I later in 2018 (25 yrs later) saw the word “narcissist” ta da! There it was. It’s been a life of misery.

Genuine practical questions: Both are in school and working. Who’s raising the kid? Daycare (NOT good)? Other family (aka family welfare / not their responsibility)? Only the parents? - if so, how? - what is their day to day like? - that’s what I want to know. Honest inquiry. I 100% believe in the gospel.

You can pray to find the miracle answer for your family. I was finishing with my teaching degree at BYU Provo and had my son in August. I only had my student teaching to finish so I could graduate. My husband was in school and had one more year to finish. I found a sister that was home with her new baby while her husband was in law school. I asked, since my little boy slept a lot, could she watch two babies while I finished my student teaching for $3.00 an hour? She agreed and we were blessed to get through our school and have children. I have confidence that God will provide a miracle when you follow his counsel. - Sister Nehila
