yeah definitely is, start of the song, a slow hypnotizing rhythmic beat/riff, like your just 'grinding' or persevering at some task over millennia, digging through the densest of diamonds,... then slowly, as another guy mentioned in comments, the loop riff w/ key counter melodies @ 24:20 breaks after a 4 minute buildup, like walking for days in the wilderness and finally breaking over a hillside to see the goal or something. Then from there it just goes to so many places, sonically and emotionally. The loop-riff motif gets hit with heaviness @24:38, but keeps going, so the light/crystal/levitation/angelic riff/keys gets contrasted with the heavy distortions riff. @25:30 guitar wizard hands you elixir to drink, pulls you into a warp tunnel, @25:45, snap back to a new reality with paradigm shift @26:53 (bended note) , dolphin jumps high out of water then nosedives DEEP @26:54 Back into the pre-esatblished 'soft' riff motif earlier in song, but blended with the 'hard' guitar riffs (heavyness/lightness at same time)(amazing!) . @28:10 , more wizard stuff, @28:37 which leads to a cool warp tunnel transportation part, synth/violin thing gives it a cool Babylonian texture, @30:13 those solo riffs with consonance/dissonance emotion! then the early morning calm lake outro beginning at 30:40, morphing into an almost 'hockey-night' arena board-slammer drum beat.

In my experience with listening to Elder, it takes several listens to get it. To try and critique it after one listen is a disservice to the band, and to yourself frankly. Don't let yourself miss out on the chance to read between the lines and absorb all their music has to offer. This is my third listen and I am just now starting to feel the grooves. And I know that going forward this is going to be another heavy rotation Elder offering for me.

Elder does it yet again! It's honestly very surprising to see bands come up with album after album, each unique with its own interesting features, but still not losing any integrity in the process. After Lore and Reflections, I did not expect them to be still so clear in framing their ideas and executing them on Omens. This is one colourful release, representing ideas (through music) that seem both disjoint yet connected. It's like the unconscious mind. Comes up with strange, disconnected ideas; but if thought is put into them, they fly together and integrate into a wonderful notion! That is ART, and that's precisely what Elder have done, time after time, and now once again. Beautiful.

This album sounds like "Melodic Lore" to me. Guitar tone wise it reminds me of Lore. I like the record a lot but the vocals on some songs are annoying though. The last two songs in particular feature vocal parts I would like to skip. "Embers" even features some sort of a pop hook. I always liked the fact that the vocals in Elder songs never played a huge part in the songs and were mixed really low but now it's different. Not as good as "Reflections..." or "Lore" but a good record to me. I think I won't play "Embers" and "One Light Retreating" that often anymore but the other three songs are nearly on the same level as from the previous two records (except the vocal mix). My favorite track is "Halcyon" which is the trippiest one and features the least amount of vocals. No coincidence I guess. Just a matter of taste I guess.

Yeah, it's a nice melodic riff. Mostly because of the keys.

Huge fan since 2011, been to 4 concerts. You always make me happy with your music. Nick is a very down to earth guy, smoked a spliff at Freak Valley Festival together and had a nice chat. Stay true guys. Best regards from Germany.
