I’m actually thrilled if they’re true multi part kits exactly what I’ve been missing with fallout. Also they mentioned in an interview that doing scenic bases along with the minis ups the production cost. I agree push fit models would make more sense for the starter but I’m glad to see multipart kits finally coming.

I bought the plastic core sets. I highly recommend spending the extra money to get the resin sets instead. I have no complaints about the details, but with great detail, comes great complexity. Lots of tiny parts. I also love the scenic bases from Fallout. Yes they cost more, but the scenic bases look so much better and saves so much time versus making my own bases. I myself masochistically started with the Dungeon Delve boxed set. The Imperials and Stormcloaks are a lot easier to put together. Elder Scrolls was developed during Covid when most of the office staff were working at home. This led to miscommunications, so a lot of the cards and the books have spelling typos and inconsistent iconography. They released new cards in the Chapter one card pack that replace the misprints. They also released print and play pdf's of the cards.

The plastics were a nightmare to assemble in some places but I appreciate the added durability

Lol I agree on the cards. but I like the flat base you look at the character more. And I agree building was unusually more complicated then most. But I enjoyed it wasn't to difficult just time consuming. I would build my friends if they wanted me to for fun.

I haven't played a proper game yet, but from reading the rulebook, I love how emergent the game's mechanics are overall. What bothers me is how obtuse the dice system is. I might understand it after playing a game or two, but it seems unnecessarily complicated.

It definitely becomes easier to understand after a couple of rounds :)

I'm not very good at building miniatures from GW because of how finicky they are,these look kind of similar. I don't really like the flat basis either I think we may have just been spoiled with wasteland warfare if modiphius switches to the high impact polystyrene for wasteland warfare I guess I would be okay with it but I would still like the scenic basis to be done
@itsjustchris54124 жыл бұрын
So are we just suppose to glue the minis to the black base or is there more to it than that?
@CesarIsaacPerez4 жыл бұрын
Yes, you just glue it down to the base. It's not a big deal. He's nitpicking on that point. GW and most miniature games only give you those flat bases.

Great review, man. are the miniatures 32mm like with Fallout: Wasteland Warfare or are they 28mm like Warhammer?
@MisfitHobbies4 жыл бұрын
I don’t have them in front of me but from what I remember they’re 28...I could be wrong though

Agreed. There was something weird feeling about opening the cards and see the game screenshot. I said, "huh... skyrim game. I was expecting art" Then again, one has to admit with a new game launch, they saved alot of money and royalties using the screenshots

how dare you bash on this game that I'm very excited for! OK jokes aside it is good to see some honest feedback about what you liked and disliked, its good to know the difficulties with the minis so i know what to expect going into my build. The bases are a none issue for me since i like to make my own, but like you said its the new comers who you worry about. The cards..... hmm i can only say that maybe it saved them time and money to just go with the screen shot? I feel more indifferent about that aspect. I could change my mind when i get them who knows.

sorry long comment, but keep up the good work! its nice to have something to hold us over till we can actually get the game.
@MisfitHobbies4 жыл бұрын
Not a worry I love reading comments :) Yeah to be honest everything about the game is looking great and the mini's themselves are great too. The problems I have are super minor (especially when it comes to the unit cards), for me I'm always super aware that a game like this will bring new gamers to the hobby so we need to be super aware of the skill level needed at entry and the assembly and basing of the mini's is really important to that. I think with the resin that wouldn't be an issue but then they'd have to pay more to get their hands on them :/
@synns68984 жыл бұрын
You can get all the minis in resin for abit extra money if you want less construction.

Looking forward to some play through. I would also love it man if you got more time maybe you should do some more Wasteland Warfare videos like a campaign or something

I also have an issue with the screen shots on the card mainly because the units I'm most excited for are from Morrowind, which I just dont see any scenario where they put screenshots from an 18 year old game on a card, especially if it clashes so much aesthetically with the newer Skyrim screenshots, which means they either wouldn't put them in the game or those cards are going to be super ugly =/ Really hoping that changes, great review!
@MisfitHobbies4 жыл бұрын
Unless they use screenshots from Elder Scrolls Online? But I totally agree, artwork or photos of the miniature would be way better
@MisfitHobbies4 жыл бұрын
Hey Sean! So had a chat with the community manager for the game about this and they are looking for ways to solve this very issue for when they do introduce Mini’s from the older games :)

@@MisfitHobbies Thats great news at least!
@CesarIsaacPerez4 жыл бұрын
I agree with the Card art, using screen captures looks lazy and even ugly. But the flat bases are not an issue at all. Games Workshop and all other mini companies give you flat bases! Games workshop only makes scenic bases for Warhammer Underworlds and for some single boxed mini's, everything else has flat black bases (trust me, I have 6 AoS armies and 4 armies for Warhammer 40k). Only pointing that out cause you make a big deal about a small issue and presented inaccurate information in your video when you single out GW.
@ArcaneCowboy2 жыл бұрын
Buy or make your own scenic bases. They add cost. Doing your bases is part of the hobby.
@MisfitHobbies2 жыл бұрын
It can be but some folks don't have the time to build their bases, sometimes having scenic bases can help them get their minis to the table more easily

How did Modiphius select the people to send out preview copies to? If it takes someone 'days' to assemble a box of 10 28mm plastic minis, then they probably aren't the best candidate for reviewing the product.
@shadowcouncil95702 жыл бұрын
So what happens if they release a Morrowind set, they planning on using screen shots from the game too? Modiphius seems to have a history of making weird decisions when it comes to production.

I guess we'll find out pretty soon! They have new sets on the way and have the Dawnguard sets coming soon

Any 40k players stressing out about The construction of the miniturs. If you have problems making these models and you have been playing wargames for a while you should stop. If you're getting into models/wargames its really not that hard just take your time and think.
@MisfitHobbies4 жыл бұрын
It’s important to remember that everyone has a different skill level. Assembling miniatures isn’t going to come naturally to everyone and we shouldn’t hate keep the hobby based on someone’s ability to assemble them

:/ damn. I have limited hand dexterity so I can’t move my fingers. Gonna have to have my fam build the miniatures for me...
