Elder Scrolls Online: Where to Get Racial Motifs Learn Crafting Styles Guide

Understanding and Acquiring Racial Motifs
You can not buy Racial Motifs from Vendors in-game; although you can buy or trade with other players. Racial Motifs are tied to your character; not your account. Finding Racial Motifs in game is uncommon although there are tips you can follow that will make your chances better: look inside buildings/structures, in containers inside those structures; such as desks, chests/trunks, night stands, dressers (basically furniture). Also check for Racial Motifs in areas that are out of the way (where other players are fewer).
Understanding and Acquiring Styling Materials
The styling materials used for crafting in the style of a Racial Motif can be found or purchased from in-game Vendors (and players), specifically Clothiers (and possibly others). The styling materials used for styling a Racial Motif are not to be confused with the materials used to create an item. When Blacksmithing, there will be an option reflecting a Material, such as Iron or Steel, and Styles, such as Molybdenum for the Breton Racial style, or Obsidian for the Dunmer (Dark Elf) Racial style. In other words, there are Blacksmithing Materials (Iron, Steel, etc.), and Blacksmithing Style [Materials] (Molybdenum, Obsidian). Like Racial Motifs, styling materials can be found in buildings/structures, inside containers inside those structures; such as desks, chests/trunks, night stands, dressers (basically furniture); unlike Racial Motifs, you can find styling materials in the wild in backpacks, in dungeons in containers such as urns, pots et al.. Blacksmithing materials such as Iron can be mined in the wild when you find a deposit; you will never find a deposit of a style material so these are not things you can mine.

Being an outlaw is one of the most fun things to do in the game :3 it does suck sometimes, though, when you have about 3000g worth of stolen goods taken by guards when you get trapped in the bank and they beat you down! xD

Check your cooldowns when you get caught. The red is heat which means guards will persue you. White bar is the bounty. It goes down slower than the red bar but you can actually chill and wait for it to dissapear if you have some crazy good loot your scared to lose while you have a bounty

Brian Magana great way to make money to buy the items you need. Most of the reg items that are useless like dolls and stuff go for 30-100 gold each. Go to your main castle keep city like Daggerfall and break in all the houses. Plenty of loot

No, Motifs let you craft in that style so if you want a deadric sword like the one you have now you will have to make it and then enchant it etc

Imperial is my favorite. The heavy armor looks like a centurion. However, I would change the grieves, gauntlets, and boots to a more tanky look. My character is a beefy nord, so it suits him (appearance wise).

The only alternative is to buy them at the crown store. They are all sold separately and are very expensive. 4000 to 5000 crowns each. A lot to spend for vanity.

It depends on if the buyer notices it's the style they like, but if you were to find selected buyers I'm sure there could be gold in it.

+Spencer Adams I actually found out dwemer you can find randomly in any container,crate,etc in a dwemer ruin,barbaric,daedric,primal,and ancient elves, you find in Veteran 1+ areas and xivkyn you find from trophy rooms and from bosses in the imperial city dlc,and Glass you find randomly by doing Crafting Writs

They only come from killing Deadra but you can get them anywhere theres Deadra, not just veteran areas. I'm level 23 and have a couple.

I found a deadric dagger at sheogoraths tongue that you can farm and deconstruct it for the hearts. It's not bad and plus if ur below level 19 you can farm soul gems from the bosses near the dagger. Super easy. Sometimes a pain in the ass

Actually, most containers (not locked treasure chests, though) are actually instanced, meaning that it doesn't matter how many players are in an area because you and others see separate versions of the same container. The game just randomly chooses whether any given container will be empty or not when the area loads up. Might also be worth noting that you can just log out to character select then log back in on the same character to reset containers.

Considering that I've seen people in a room run from one container to the next, then seconds later opened those exact same containers myself and gotten items (including motifs), either: 1. You're incorrect. 2. The reset times are so fast that it doesn't really matter. 3. A lot of people will, for whatever reason, walk up to multiple containers and then not actually open them. 4. Weird, random latency shenanigans that have somehow ensured I almost always get items even if I shouldn't.
