I believe we might see a manned mission to Mars during the next couple of decades. I would break into crocodile tears if the mission finds Oppy.
@kezzabanana49583 жыл бұрын
@@LucasGonzalezA no chance. As the very well informed astronaut Jim lovell said quote "don't be holding your breath on a manned mission to Mars". The enormous challenge of getting people to another planet for the first time is mind blowing. The distance, our limitations in terms of velocity, long term radiation exposure, logistics I. E food, water, oxygen and other essentials not to mention your utilities on board for an 18 month round trip to a planet which at its nearest orbital position is around 38 million miles away. Then there's of course the unforseen dangers, I. E space debris hitting the craft, tensions within the crew, and long term effects of zero to little gravity on Mars. Dust storms are a potential life threatening event on the surface of Mars, which the dust is far more minute and can pose a problem to the lander and affect mechanisms on the transport vehicle which departs mars on the return to the mars orbiter. Decades I believe you need to disbelieve after this message. These are only some of the many others, the phrase no room for error may have a emphasis, anyone, especially the first astronauts, cosmonauts, teikmonauts will need and then some. Oh I forgot mars temperature makes the Antarctica feel like the Sahara desert. Your on Mars with the knowledge that if your exposed to Mars atmosphere you die! Youll be in some kind of cumbersome suit for the duration of your stay on Mars, and you'll need plenty of warmth for your stay or you'll die!. Welcome to Mars!

I think it's the idea of leaving anything on a desert planet by itself with nobody around it to help it. Even a robot. The Spirit rover, also known as the Mars Exploration Rover (MER) A, was one of two robotic Mars rovers launched by NASA in 2003 as part of the Mars Exploration Rover program. The mission's goal was to search for signs of past water and to study the Martian geology. Spirit landed on Mars on January 4, 2004, in Gusev Crater and operated for more than six years, far exceeding its original 90-day mission plan. Spirit's main scientific objective was to study the history of water on Mars. The rover's instruments were used to study the composition of rocks and soil, search for evidence of past water, and examine the planet's geology. Spirit was equipped with several scientific instruments, including a panoramic camera, a rock abrasion tool, a Moessbauer spectrometer, an alpha particle X-ray spectrometer, a Mössbauer spectrometer, a miniature thermal emission spectrometer, and a magnetic field sensor. During its mission, Spirit discovered that the planet had a more varied geology than previously thought and also found evidence of past water in the form of minerals that only form in the presence of water. The rover also discovered evidence of volcanic activity on Mars. Spirit rover's mission was declared complete on May 25, 2011, after it got stuck in a sand trap, and NASA was unable to free the rover and restore full mobility. However, it had greatly exceeded its planned mission lifetime of 90 days, and it had returned a wealth of scientific data and images that helped to greatly increase our understanding of Mars.

FlamesGay Very unlikely sadly. An alien would probably be terrified of the “Mysterious Object” at first. They wouldn’t know where it came from. Plus, it’s unlikely they could figure out how it works before Humans come to Mars, and find them. Even if the Alien was very advanced, it’s unlikely they would know how exactly how it works. So not only they couldn’t fix it, it’s likely they wouldn’t want to. But hey... I will be honest, that’s a very interesting and fully concept to imagine!

@Nina Tote I think it would be more poetic to let them stay there, or would they just rust away? Like a monument

Fun fact: Spirit actually comes on for a split second because of the open areas on the solar panel (this was a day after it died it doesn't do this anymore)

Its always odd to me when descriptions are made as a pretense for the video, 99.9% of viewers simply dont read them at all, personally ive partially read maybe 30 out of 10's of thousands of videos ive watched. But i must say i appreciate when people actually do a proper description and this one was very well done.

It's interesting how emotional one can get over a machine. As a human I get it, but it's just strange when you think about it. Spirit didn't care one tiny little bit, but driving backwards, dragging a broken wheel to its final resting place still makes me sad. Poor little guy! LOL
