To activate place a block on one of the observers faces.

Fall damage is based on air time. So when the mooshroom cow died it was because of the time it was kept in the air, not how softly it landed.

Fun Fact with leads! Before 1.20 if the animal is in the air, the fall damage basically stacks. So even if you slowly put the animal down like you did with the mooshroom. The fall damage took effect. Its also why the other animals died when they bounced onto the staircase while you carried them up.

Y'all, barrels can't be pushed by pistons... any container blocks (blocks that can hold items like chests, barrels, furnaces, hoppers, droppers, etc.) cannot be pushed. That's why he had to use entities that can hold items.
