Nothing is better than when Caleb notices that his opponent might have an out and then realizes that he shouldn’t fear failing on a line because the payoffs make all of his watchers keep coming back. His play style is extremely unique and fun because he never goes for easy win conditions and always turns his storm decks into works of art. I can appreciate this type of play.

Thank you :) and haha yeah I'm getting better at that as the channel grows. It's weird how much more impactful negative comments are than I thought looking from the outside (it's oddly similar to a negative performance review from your boss, since youtube comments are really the only feedback you get. Imagine your boss saying some of the things you find on youtube comments lol o.O) But eventually you learn to just ignore them.

I finally got caught up over the weekend, so I've been jonesing for a new video, haha. (I'm also so bored these days I've seriously considered trying to do some sort of analysis of your draft picks/win percentage for all your drafts. I'm not sure if it's worth it, though, given how the cubes are updated over time. Thoughts?)
@CalebGannon4 жыл бұрын
I think it would probably be worth it. I mostly just want to find out what my win rates by archetype/card combos are. I've actually been planning a community project where I'll ask people in my discord to collect decklists and win rates for all of my videos I'll do some analysis and make a video about it and then the data will be open source so if you wanted to do any of your own analysis it would save a lot of time over going through 150+ videos on your own

Serious question... with the cost of cards being so high and love of vintage cube being so high do you CALEB find proxy cards for cube drafting acceptable or not?
@CalebGannon4 жыл бұрын
Yes 100%. There is no other way to do vintage cube really, and even then I think the fear of damaging the cards or them being stolen would detract from the fun. I also proxy for commander for similar reasons (but I play commander for fun, so Its not like I'm proxying up a broken deck, just some old niche cards that are a lotta money).

I'm only at the deck building portion right now, but I could definitely see cutting red. Your mana is super rough and just channeling out big bois with a combo engine behind it seems like a solid gameplan. That being said, I'm down with the nonsense you're doing instead.
@CalebGannon4 жыл бұрын
its definitely an option, but we would need like 8 green sources to somewhat reliably channel which would also ruin the high tide plan. I think getting past in flames and wheel is a huge boost though

I really don't get the hate for Bribery in Cube. Why is it ok to Channel out an Emrakul T2 in Green or Sneak in an Emrakul, but not to have a way to punish the broken decks in control decks? It's also a near miss against a bunch of other decks which in turn balances the Bribery a bit also.
@CalebGannon4 жыл бұрын
Bribery is a one card combo whereas channel or sneak require two cards, one of which is uncastable unless you find channel or sneak specifically (I also think channel should not be in the cube for what it's worth). Sneak I think is ok because it costs 5 total mana and two cards, so its a lot slower than the others and you don't get the cast trigger like with channel

As a new player to the game, I find these kinds of decks interesting but boring. I prefer a game that's fun versus just full of clever tricks that result in turns taking 15 minutes each. Maybe that's just me.
