Exactly! it's already extremely selfish enough to chose to become pregnant knowing full well that you can't take care of it nonetheless yourself and your existing child but to then prioritise an unborn child that doesn't know it exists and some man over your own existing child is very selfish and the mother is an awful human.

@@martinkingdon6699 back when AIDS first started it was almost exclusively found in the gay community and the vast majority of people had no idea how it was transmitted- they believed that just being near someone infected with HIV or who had AIDS could make them sick. It took high profile people like Princess Diana and Elizabeth Taylor demonstrating by example that you can touch, kiss, hug people with HIV/AIDS and not be infected. Adults screamed at little children who tried to attend elementary school because they thought they were going to give their child AIDS by just being in class with them. Absolutely heartbreaking to not only suffer from the horrible effects of the disease itself but to then also have people treat you like a biohazard bin - even in hospitals there were medical professionals at first who wouldn’t touch or get close to the AIDS patients. And before they developed the antiretroviral therapy they have today the disease was even more of a nightmare for sufferers, so they were truly facing hell on earth all alone, completely cut off from close human contact and touch until their death and even beyond in the treatment of their corpses. Thank God we have educated the general public on how diseases are transmitted and how they aren’t.

No matter what Collin had to say, I expect he was a homosexual, maybe repressed. He managed to pass as gay, pick up a gay man, and "fake it" far enough to get a man in the bedroom. My gay friends used to joke about having gaydar (gay radar) claiming they could pick out a gay person in any room of strangers. And there's the psychological fact that we mostly hate in others, what we most hate or fear in ourselves. And then the way he strangled or suffocated them, killed them up close and personal, instead of shooting or something else that would put him more at a distance. Not many straight guys would be comfortable or into handling a Male, naked body, to pose or the body or whatever. He was a sexual sadist that had a preference for men. Just my opinion.

Perhaps but anybody can be gay. In my year there were quite a few bisexual girls but they all looked straight so you wouldn't have known. I'm sure the same can be said for many gay men. You don't need to look gay to be gay. And there are also probably quite a few lesbians who look really straight too. I have a lesbian friend who finds it hard to get attention from females because they automatically assume she's straight & it's frustrating.

Just like a gay person wouldnt likely be comfortable going that far to act straight.

As a foster in animal rescue, I find it extremely upsetting when people dump their senior dog at the shelter because they got a new puppy. It happens more than you might realize. It is so sad for those dogs. I can only imagine how a child would feel. Psychologically and emotionally, it probably was not the best for (young) Colin. Even if he did receive regular meals, I bet he would have taken the love of his parents over that if given a choice.

It’s awful to me that so many senior dogs get dumped, especially since they’re less likely to be adopted. When I’m on my own in a big enough place I’d love to adopt or at least foster senior animals. There some be some organization or something to raise awareness about how many senior animals are left lonely, even though they’re generally well behaved, trained a bit, socialized, etc. also not as energetic generally so better for smaller homes, homes with kids, etc. maybe if more people realized how many senior animals there are in shelters, more people would want to foster and adopt them.

Okay gonna call out the mother AS a child who lived place to place and was bullied. Putting the child who ALREADY has attachments to you into foster care is messed up on so many levels. Eleanor might not put blame on her, but I do. They should have put the baby who doesn't even know it's a person the moment its born into either foster care or adoption. She had an obligation to her son she spent all her life with. Just because some man who is "Mr.Right" comes into her life and they NOW have a biological child together doesnt mean you can throw away the half blood like he's nothing. I know he turned into a murderer, but maybe if someone saved the child he was he wouldn't be the monster he turned into... Edit: I'm not saying the mom was the sole factor to what he became. But in saying some normalcy might have helped a little...

My uncle-in-law died from aids in the late 80’s. It was how his family found out he was gay and luckily for him they embraced him and took very good care of him to the end of his life. The German word "Serienmörder" is defined as a murderer that commits several similar murders. Yeeeees!!!! Exactly 💯. I am in no way blaming her for him growing up to murder but I do blame her for his emotional disconnect. First the mother moved him around and around so he was never able to make friends and if he did in the short time he was in a school, he would have to move again and lose that connection so he stopped trying and then he was eventually abandoned by his mom and so I greatly blame her for his emotional disconnect from anyone and why he was so weird and no one really liked him. He never learned how to make friends and he never learned how to act in any kind of social environment. I absolutely 💯% blame the mom for all of that. However, Colin still knew right from wrong and he knew killing was wrong. I do not blame the mother for those actions.

my grandad was a detective in romford during this case. for those that don’t know, romford is in essex like southend. he was often asked to go to different towns in the county and in london to help with different things. i grew up with so many stories from him. he worked the peter sutcliffe case and was at the arrest, he investigated the kray cases etc. he once told me how he was asked to go to london to fill in for an officer who wasn’t able to make it into work that day. he had to decline, because my mum (a toddler/young child) was really ill and nobody else could care for her as my grandma was extremely busy at work (she was a legal secretary). he said he was ‘bloody well glad’ he didn’t go, because that force had found andrew collier and his cat that day. he passed a couple years ago, and i was always too young to REALLY ask him his stories. now that i’m an adult, i’m not able to. but it’s so fascinating being related to a man who had a part in a load of cases and to hear one of them from eleanor

I’m so exhausted and have to work at 11 tonight I still got that “second wind” that tends to happen to all of us when we were literally just dozing off on the way home. I wasn’t sure how I was going to relax then an Eleanor notification popped up and now I know. Thank you for being you, Eleanor. You’re a wonderful person and I see so much success in your future. Edit to add: It’s RSV season and all the parents of little ones need to be very careful with your babes. Do not let anyone besides you and immediate family kiss your baby no matter what unless they’ve recently been vaccinated for RSV. Not even on the forehead. Anyone over 60 is very prone to catching this and sometimes don’t show symptoms. Even if Aunt Edna who’s 95 and had driven 8 hours to come see your new baby do not allow kissing. Even Grandparents and any other relatives. More babies die every year than the amount of babies that die from Covid every year. If they get mad then too bad, they’ll get over it. If they can’t respect your boundaries then they can leave. Their feelings do not mean more than your children’s lives!!

can i just say good job to the court on how they dealt with him when he was younger. They tried so hard to keep this boy out of jail… sadly wasn’t enough.

I get the feeling Colin Ireland's treatment of his second wife is because of Virginia leaving (and it never being the cheaters fault when the truth comes out, of course) I could definitely see his change in character is him being like "imma hurt you, take everything and leave you before you can leave me" at least when it comes to his treatment of his first wife compared to the second

Deeper than that- he was getting back at his mother, too for having him in poverty. He probably figured 'i made it, what's their struggle, to me?' He's already disgusting

Please get your facts straight. My mum did not leave him. He physically and violently abused both my mum and me and the last time he was in prison while my mum was still married to him she divorced him before he ended up killing her.

@@laura-anndesmond That's really what I thought. It was just too odd to me, that he was pictured as loving and caring through the whole marriage. Made no sense. And then the drastic leave and no contact of his first wife (your mom) also made no sense otherwise. I'm sorry you had him in your life.

i just think it’s hilarious that things never went according to his plan. he wanted notoriety so desperately and failed at every turn. rip to the victims of this narcissistic psycho and sad excuse of a serial killer

Colin exponentially cared more about immediate notoriety, than the actual murdering. A true serial killer wouldve loved how no one was on his tail. Killing seemed to not be part of his motivation at all

i really hate when people see someone who says they're absolutely not gay, and because they comitted hate crimes against gay people, others assume they were closeted yes, it absolutely happens, closeted gay people can be awful sometimes for a variety of reasons however, most homophobia comes from outside the gay community, and doing this (assuming someone who hates gay people and says they're not gay.. is gay) is just another way to blame marginalized communities for their own oppression it happens EVERY TIME if someone commits a hate crime against lgbtqia+ people, they're "closeted and taking it out on others" no "oh yeah this person said they're not gay and commits hate crimes against gay people, wow they're really awful and homophobic" it's "oh yeah they're definitely gay, i don't want to speculate but GAYYYY" i can GUARANTEE most lgbt+phobic hate is from people outside the lgbt+ community, and sometimes isn't even directed at lgbt+ people, but anyone who has any remotely similar traits in how they speak or how they dress or what they look like, whatever
