President Clinton spoke with absolutely NO teleprompter for nearly an hour. He went into detail, amounts, stats, etc. That is a brilliant man going to a podium and speaking out of the top of his head with no notes. It’s incredible.

guys like him are reasons I don't agree with the 22nd amendment of limiting a man to just 2 terms of presidency. If he would have ran in 2000, he would have gotten re-elected. despite that silly impeachment, his approval ratings were still high and the economy was booming.

@Chooey Sooares Yes, Obama definitely would have beaten Trump. By bad presidents running a 3rd time? Here are the presidents impacted by the 22nd amendment. Dwight Eisenhower Ronald Reagan Bill Clinton George W Bush Barack Obama The amendment was put in place because Franklin D Roosevelt died in office after serving an unprecedented 12 years. he died shortly after winning his 4th election
@jayNicks10

Chooey Sooares I didn’t feel like going into too much detail with the past presidents. Yes. Bush would have definitely lost in 2008. I’d say worse than McCain did. Reagan would have won if he was willing and able to run. Eisenhower (don’t know for sure) Reagan (would not have ran, but would’ve won if he did) Clinton (would’ve won) Bush (would’ve lost) Obama (would’ve won) But yes, it was a partisan thing. The republicans controlled the congress then.

When I watched this in 2012, it blew me away. I grew up in a Republican household in the 90s. A family that HATED this man. I wasn't old enough to understand the truth outside of that, and I regret it. This speech was awesome.

I remember when this speech came up. Out of nowhere, in a race that seemed somewhat close, came freaking Bill Clinton reminding us how he won one of the biggest upsets in the US election. This man has the gift of public speaking, even more than Obama and on par if not above the candor style of Reagan. When this speech came up, if just lent an aura of inevitability.

When I listened to this speech, I was completely sure that he saved Obama's re-election. Clinton definitely brought the house down. Things needed to to be explained in detail to people.

With due respect, Reagan certainly had his qualities as a politician (policy and substance aside, I’m talking about the craft of politics, not policy), but in my opinion he was nowhere near to the best public speakers among the presidents. Obama is certainly incredibly gifted, Clinton without a doubt and above even those two, I’d put Kennedy.

My concern in leadership, ultimately, is in how well one leads, negotiates and guides the people and their well being- both economically and socially- both at home and abroad. He left office with a country in surplus, not engaged in any ongoing war(s) and with a track record of being able to have parlayed with other world leaders well. What's being said here is an accurate statement of what's needed 'now'. Not interested in the bedroom and maybe being disbarred as 'a lawyer' was a blessing.

The United States raised taxes to pay for every war in its history - even the war for independence. WW2 tax revenues tripled as a share of GDP, Korea tax revenues jumped 4%. LBJ's decision not to raise taxes for Vietnam, increased inflation, eventually ended the gold standard, led to petro-dollars. Until Bush, the US never cut taxes during wartime.
