You are right. Politically I absolutely loathe Farage and all he stands for-but Rachel is right, as a person you can’t help but like him-which in many ways is what makes him so dangerous politically. I adore Rachel, she is the perfect person to talk with him as she absolutely disarms him and gets him to talk without making him defensive. Shame she has such a twit for a brother.
@MauriatOttolink5 жыл бұрын
@@lilylolly8757 Farage is equally disarming. Why do you find the same thing politically dangerous in someone whose views you oppose yet charming when you approve of them politically? Peers Corbyn ("Who? I hear you say!) is a World Leading Climate scientist who has (amongst many other REAL scientists) proved the Climate Project Fear to be a political hoax. He has also conclusively disproved the alleged man-made aspect of Climate Change. It's a shame that he's got a dangerous world class twit for a brother. Boris doesn't have a twit for a sister. That doesn't make him a Twit. If we didn't have to vote for our politicians but did a Dangerous Twit count amongst the parties we'd still have the same govt. in power. It wouldn't be a landslide but we'd be left in no doubt!

Maybe so, but I think it more important that we find levels where we can find agreement, or just share a joke, or love of music. Too often we get tied up on a single subject and frankly become bores, when there is so much to us. How else did the "Chuckle Brothers", Ian Paisley and Martin McGuinness help diffuse The Troubles in Northern Ireland and reach agreements on power sharing? I think we should all remember how multifaceted we are, and seek common ground wherever possible to achieve compromise, or if not, to at least accept difference in people, and rub along.

Rachel Johnson is conflating two different types of democracy, Direct and Representational. In the main we are governed by representational democracy, i.e. each MP 'represents' us. Rarely we switch to direct democracy and the people directly instruct the government on a specific question, i.e a referendum. The idea being that the electorate answer a question directly and government acts on the outcome. In the case of the Leave/Remain referendum, the Remainer's not happy with the result have decided to blur the lines by slyly using representational democracy. They are fudging the two types together. In a true democracy it's either one or the other, they don't mix!

It's wonderful how civil this discussion is. Politics should be more like this.

Nigel talks such good sense and really lays out facts in an understandable way, with great clarity and without any prejudice.

Farage will do anything for publicity and money. Meanwhile, as well as funding Ukip (Aaron Banks) the globalists (Murdoch) are financing Farage (Fox News) and trying as ever to destroy our BBC.

you literally couldn't be more wrong in your assertions. UKIP is literally about to file for bankruptcy and the reason Murdoch owned/run networks are soaring is because people are waking up to the fact that they're being continuously lied to or misinformed by left/liberal-controlled media. as for Farage's finances, nobody cares. I'm what you'd probably call a 'hard centrist' (I'm certainly no Tory). then again, I'd rather watch my own balls being licked by Susan Boyle than watch MSNBC's 'Morning Joe'. touché.

What a great concept, thought both of them handled themselves brilliantly. Good example for all of us to not get angry whilst having these sort of discussions. Surprised this doesn't have more views.

Was it me or didn't she have a clue as to why she wanted to stay in the EU? She epitomises well what Churchill quipped, "five minutes alone with the average, British electorate is enough to put anyone off of democracy". The woman could not articulate any kind of coherent argument for staying in. She doesn't even know why she joined the Libdems and has a vague feeling that might be a mistake. Good grief, she's a blundering disaster. Edit: Russell Brand would have been a much better choice. Bipolar opposites

Rachel says 'the Germans have been a real force for stability', well not if you're Greek they haven't and the Euro was essentially a German conception !
@Dieaerzte94945 жыл бұрын
Although I'm - being a German - not a big fan of the EU and the Euro, your last information is wrong. The Euro was the condition by the French, who always suffered under the strong Deutsche Mark, to give their consent to the German Unification.

I feel so bad for Nigel, all the damn hate he's been targeted with all these years. And the guy is trying to do a good thing for this country and all these nasty liberal thicko's are out to stop it at any cost. He's a GREAT man. And how he's not been the PM of GB is an utter travesty IMO.
@elliotp96385 жыл бұрын
He may say some things that people disagree with, but I think he is genuinely a nice guy deep down, and he got involved in politics because he loves his country. I agree with you, it is sad to imagine people shouting at him and trying to assault him in the streets.

Britain was never great, it used it's population to terrorize the world for 300 years, The British Empire was not built on trade as we are led to believe, it was built on greed, corruption and force as we plundered one country after another around the world stealing their natural resources for almost nothing ... This is why Britain today is no longer great, if it ever was, because all of those countries have learned to stand up for themselves and kick us out !!!
