Nice, you're one of the few people who have made videos on this ebike. Does the seat being so low and unadjustable give it poor ergonomics? How does it feel comfort wise riding & pedalling for a long time? Would you consider getting the seat riser accessory for this? I have the same use case as you but wonder if I would be better served getting a more traditional ebike like the RadRunner 3 Plus.

I find it perfectly fine to pedal with the stock seat height as a 5'8" rider. I scoot my butt back towards the rear half of the seat to stretch my legs out, and I've rolled my bars back every so slightly to make it comfy to stretch out. It's obviously not going to feel like a regular bicycle, but it's not caused me any discomfort at all. I have no plans on getting the riser for myself, but I would imagine it's nice for taller folks. I would say the main draw to this bike is the shop support you can get with it. If you have an issue, just roll up to your local Trek/Electra dealer and it gets handled. If you have problems with a RadPower, it's going to be a hassle and the bike will be down for a long time while you email/chat back and fourth trying to troubleshoot with a support person. I also love the frame bag for this bike, fits so much stuff and is perfect for commuting. Feel free to as me any more questions here or on my instagram @sarge_the_ebike_guy, I'm trying to put more content out there about this bike since it's so new.

For pushing the throttle on max with no pedal assist, this made sense. I will be pedaling, so I assume my charge will last longer. Very cool

I'm actually curious how different the range would be pedaling in assist level 3. I'm guessing either exactly the same, or potentially less. Wind resistance starts to impact range the further past 20mph you get, I'll have to try it some day.

Just bought Ponto Go, but waiting for the bike to arrive. I am going to use this bike mostly to commute. I work at the University campus and wondering what type of lock you use for your Ponto? Also "where" and "how" do you lock them on this bike. Thanks

I mount an Abus folding lock to the bottle cage mounts, and I just lock the frame to a post. Not really any need to lock the wheels since they're annoying to take off, unless you're in an inner city area.

Can you link the accessories you have? Mainly interested in the phone holder and the rear view mirror.
@sarge_on_wheels23 күн бұрын
The phone holder is built into the bike, the bike comes with a quad lock stick-on mount so you can put it on any phone case. My mirror was a Hafney mirror from amazon: www.amazon.com/Hafny-Handlebar-Mirror-Blast-Resistant-HF-MR095/dp/B06XWRMZZF/ref=sr_1_5?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.XL_BQ9oXQbo9bxFHY9770G1_SLlMemhNlCndEU2kJ1pQOSU8bP9ozpNDH9HfsJy67YdgsqErJ2Ft0YLNfpQv8EUxK2tIM_ih5ttqYkGHpwXILzjJ74-gKtQn5tgAaAGW-qil9h_xeFQAyxUrB3ZIA_tNYsMKa6yvKz3IT8KLcWyQnbchwdRY42uDKvvL13A1NcgtMVfbaC8yrvMLW14OpR2p5p6T_FwN_9StG_Tg8hOhV1WEyyjHv8mXi34jYV0IdzJQOzCQ7iAOs5xexyHWe99R5zM3wm9ub3gIfCzwlVg.sYdB6MME_yHAp8rbqB04B3yhWho_sO6FBrtNNILnzcE&dib_tag=se&hvadid=634418326518&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=9067609&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=e&hvrand=14938929983577919228&hvtargid=kwd-326003227888&hydadcr=2399_13557921&keywords=hafny+bike+mirrors&qid=1716959194&sr=8-5

Great video , been riding mine since September lot’s of fun . I wasn’t able to pair my bike with the trek app all it does is spin and refuses to pair with the bike . Any hints ?
@sarge_on_wheels6 ай бұрын
I think the update came out in October so that explains it. You have to get your bikes firmware updated at your dealer, then update the app on your phone, and everything should pair up after that.

@sarge_the_ebike_guy bummer. I just picked mine up last night. I can't connect. It's a 2.5 hour round trip back to the dealer.
@sarge_on_wheels6 ай бұрын
@@akadrlove Damn really? You can get it updated at any Trek dealer though, doesn't have to be the one you purchased from.

Have you tried out the range for being solely on level 1?
@sarge_on_wheels6 ай бұрын
I have no interest in doing so, I would never ride it that way so there’s just no point. Sure you’d get more mileage but you’d go as slow as a regular road cyclist (or even slower).
@alsma12 ай бұрын
Hey! How many miles do you usually get on this bike with pedal assist? Thinking about getting the bike within the next couple days and would love to get a generalized idea of what people are getting range wise
@sarge_on_wheels2 ай бұрын
I never really rode with only pedaling, but I imagine the range in assist level 3 is pretty similar to what I got here plus a mile or 2. Levels 2 and 1 should increase the range a lot but of course you’ll be much slower. Probably above 30 miles with assist level 2 which will generally keep you 20mph or less.

Out of all the bikes you have tested, or out of any ebikes out there......what would you personally buy for 2000-4000$ if it was your own hard earned money and you had one chance to spend your money on an ebike.
@sarge_on_wheels7 ай бұрын
There’s a lot of factors that go into an ebike buying decision. Everyone has different needs, I would need to know more about what you’re using it for to help make a suggestion. I bought this bike because I love the e moped look, but I wanted something with more utility compared to the other bikes on the market. It also can carry two people so it’s fun for my wife and I to take it out to the town for dinner and drinks once and a while. It’s also easy to get parts since Electra is owned by Trek, so I know this will be serviceable for a long time.

It's solid, definitely goes slower but it gets you up them no problem.
