Amazing. Would you consider making/distributing any of your products or designs? I’d love to buy or convert a bcs to battery for my smallholding.

My goal is to show that it can be done so that a manufacturer will put in the time and money to bring it to market. I'm full-time farmer and love to do these projects but I'm not sure I'd like to run a manufacturing company, or even be good at it. Your best bet for acquiring an electric BCS is either: A) learn it and do it yourself or hire someone to do one for you as a one-off, or B) call Earth Tools and BCS America and say that you saw some Canadian farmer has already succeeded with an electric BCS and you want to know how far along they are :-)

I love my bcs and love your conversion...don't think I'm ready to do this on my 853...but I have 7 old david bradley 2wheel tractor...how do you think they would convert, they are all belts and pulley so I'm thinking easier....and what kind of run time do you get?

853 might need a bigger motor or at least higher voltage than what I used but it's doable. My battery packs are all 1000Wh or 1kWh and if you run it steadily at moderate to high load with almost no rest you get 30 minutes of run time. I've only ever had one task where I could run batteries down several in a row (tilling an entire 150x35' greenhouse. With multiple batteries and a 500W charger you can set yourself up for effectively endless runtime but you have more $ tied up in batteries DB walk-behinds are great candidates. There's one already done here on KZbin. Tyler Buck, Sensible Soils. I've converted our Planet Jr. BP1 and am working on a Tilmor Power Ox. The PJ is amazing as an electric machine. Don't know runtime yet but it draws less power than BCS and is deadly simple and clean. I think cultivating walk-behinds are arguably an even better application for battery-electric than a tillage walk-behind like the BCS. Absolutely if you have more than one DB pick the lightest or best equipped and get started! Give me a shout if you ever need help or further advice.
