I really need to build me one of these! You did a great job on this build! I need to start drawing plans and git er done before we start going to the beach!! This is the best beach wagon I’ve seen on KZbin! The only thing I would even consider doing differently is possibly making it out of aluminum but everything else is perfect! I’m going to loose sleep trying to figure out whether to buy the cart and add the electronics or build it from scratch then I’d have to decide whether to build it from steel or aluminum. So many decisions…..

Thanks for the video. I found a really clean Razor for $200 I did order the 9 & 36 sprockets along with the other items from the same place. I am going to mount the Gorrilla cart on top of the frame and attaching the wagon handle onto the handle bare neck. I don't mind the neck taking up a little room. It will be enough space for my use. I too am adding two additional batteries. Thanks again for posting the vid and info.

@@johnbonzey OK LOL I slammed my little cart together. Nothing fancy very simple, but works for what I need it for. Thanks again for the idea John. You did a far more superior build. Oh yeah I did install the same sprockets you listed. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nHq2m6Rjjbmip5I

Whatever you do don’t remove the brake plate on the atv. There is a key under it holding the axle from shifting. I just pulled off the brake line but left the metal work

Lol I understand. It’s really not that loud though. It seems the microphone on the phone makes it sound worse than it is. You can hear it for sure but I could care less if I don’t have to drag this stuff anymore :)

@@johnbonzeyit's only that loud due to the cover over the motor and chain lol take it off and you can't hear it. So either a little nose or a sandy drive line lol

I'm making one as we speak. I'm using ATV tires with hoverboard motors mounted inside of them. I hope they are strong enough to get through the deep sand. The tires are really wide. But im worried about it.

@@carl0s288 Not yet. I'm still debating which speed controller to get. I think I'm going to go with the cheap ones for now. If anything just to test. If they work well I'll stick with them. We are heading to the beach in September so I haven't been in a huge hurry. Taking time to research. I'm worried the cheap controllers will burn up when they hit the sand. I did purchase battery holders that use Milwaukee M18 batteries. I'm going to use those to power it. I'll absolutely let ya know as soon as I get the speed controllers

Thanks for the uploads on your beach cart John! I just finished up with mine although I haven't switched sprockets yet... Im just out of time so it will wait until I get back. I wanted to offer a little idea I am using for transporting the cart. We will take the Yukon and part of this was I needed to be able to use a hitch hauler. So I found one for a electric wheelchair that's pretty heavy duty but the beach cart just drives right up the ramp and done! Pretty sweet if you don't want to always use a truck. Thanks again for your efforts to show us your hard work!

@@johnbonzey😊 I had to add a little extension to the ramp but absolutely worth it! The attention just loading up is awesome lol. I haven't changed the sprockets out yet but I want to make it a little better in the deep sand. I had mine LOADED lol do you think the torque is better with the sprocket change or should I go to a 500w motor?
@johnbonzey
@johnbonzey Жыл бұрын
@@jasonc470 the sprocket was easy to replace and definitely adds a bunch more torque. I really think not changing the sprockets out will eventually burn the motor out since you are not running full rpm. Even if you add a 500w motor I would swap the sprockets. You can see in the second video the motor bogging down in deep sand so I too have been contemplating swapping the motor at some point. If you do this please let me know what you went with and how it worked out.

@johnbonzey
@johnbonzey 2 жыл бұрын
I got the sprockets at electricscooterparts.com In the first video under description i put down the buy list with skus. I had to change the chain as well. Let me know how your lower gearing works. I could have used more torque but i'm thinking with the motor at only 350 watts if i was do change anything i'd likely move up to a 500 watt maybe. overall it ran fine but i could have used more power for sure.
@76whalen
@76whalen 2 жыл бұрын
@@johnbonzey you said you went to a 9 and a 36 ? what do you recomend to go lower? Also im running 4 12volt batteries 7ah each.
@johnbonzey
@johnbonzey 2 жыл бұрын
@@76whalen That ratio puts the speed at about 4 mph which was perfect. If you are using 4 batteries for a 48v system you are using a different motor. You will have to do the numbers for your specific motor using the motor RPM, Wheel size and sprocket sizes but the sweet spot you are trying to get to is 3.5 to 4mph. There is a good calculator on their site to figure this out. With the 350 watt motor on these ATV dirt quads the 36tooth and 9tooth sprockets are what i used and would not change. If i wanted more power i'd have to change the motor out and probably rework the gearing ratios which i'm not going to do at this point :)

@@76whalen Ya after i posted that i was wondering if you were going to over voltage the motor. Honestly i have no experience with any of that so if you do this let me know your results. My fear i guess would be smoking something like the controler but again this is completely outside my wheelhouse. The guys at electricscooterparts.com would likely be able to answer your questions.
