The Model R by The Electric Bike Company is their “Rugged Enduro” model built for those who want a hybrid ebike that rides like a comfortable beach cruiser even when going off-road on gravel and bumpy roads/path. This powerful ebike has a 500watt motor with a 1250watt peak that will really power you up hills and along the road. It is a good commuter bike given the great options for a front basket and rear cargo rack options.
The Model R isn’t a small bike, and it feels a little larger than the Model C. However, given the step-through design and powerful, high-quality motor that comes included, you don’t really notice the size or weight of the bike while riding at all. In fact, we felt that the Model R handled really well in our tests and was a ton of fun to ride. The bike is like a large, luxury car: it moves along smoothly and almost floats when at speed. It isn’t super nimble on tight turns given that it’s a cruiser style bike, but otherwise rides really well. We found the Model R to be a smooth, enjoyable ride with good components and a comfortable feel.
Bottom line, we loved the bike and how it’s built with very high-quality components and fully painted and assembled 100% here in the USA. From the motor/battery to the brakes, this is a very well-built ebike. And given that you can fully customize this bike with whatever color you want (literally), we think there are a lot of consumers who are going to love this model.

Free 20 min test-drive if your local in Newport,. And an expansion opening in august means even more progress. The show room is one of a kind experience. Only the name had me take too long to see the best is this

The MXUS motor produces 125nm of torque with a 48v battery, and a 26amp controller. It's pulls pretty good. I have one. I don't now why electricbikereview says it has 60nm, they need to correct that.

Easily the worst ebike on the market. Battery is poorly made and only last a few months at best. Tried to get a new one and management wanted me to pay full price even though battery was clearly crap. Totally unreasonable. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. IT IS CHEAPER THAN THE OTHERS FOR A REASON!

I was so close to getting one of these, but the weight limit killed my plans. Is there a bike out there besides the Day6 Samson that has a throttle option like the EBC Model X or R for overweight riders?

Nice 👍. The seat on a bike is called a saddle not a chair. When hitting a bumpy section you raise your butt transferring your weight to your legs which flex at the knees and feet. I like long rides on back roads and trails.I just figured out how to add another battery and how to make said battery for my ebike. 34 sounds so much further than 14. Thank you good video 🤟😎👍🚲

What is your height? I have limited bend in my knee and therefore need a full extension. Another reviewer who is 5'9", suggested the frame might be small.

I have had my bike for 1-month charged both batteries the day I got it. Drove 25-miles charged both batteries. Today was the second time I went for a ride, it says 44% charge, I do not know if is telling me for one battery or both?. I am charging them again why/how did it lose so much charge? So, far I have gone 25-miles on two charges one ride. I have another ebike a Velowave Ranger 1-battery I get much more range 60-miles before I need to recharge I know how to charge both batteries. I have a battery in the basket, there is a swith there but I read it is for storage. I have no idea if both are being used at the same time? Can you do a video on if both batteries are working at the same time or do I switch somehow, if so how? I have been looking for sometime many videos from testers and know one explains if both are being used . How to switch between batteries is it in the menue somewhere?

Is there an option for a different handlebars? These look too wide. Would you have a suggestion for a different handlebars? I have test ridden several Gazelle bikes. Their handlebars are usable on some models. Their bikes don't have throttles and the motor is a 250.

That's the only option on the handlebars. They are swept back cruiser designed handlebars so they do go wider than most. If you're used to straight handlebars it would be an adjustment. We liked them just fine on this bike, but that's if your expectations are for a more beach cruiser feel. Which Gazelle did you like for their handlebars?

Typically just for accelerating quickly and if you want to cruise and let your legs have a rest.

Yes, over 30Ah. Upgradable battery in the frame to 14Ah and a dual battery upgrade in the basket as well. Fully tricked out it would have a max range up to 170 miles according to EBC's website.

They kept us dry and clean on all of our test rides. One of which was just after a storm came through and we took them through tons of puddles.

First off, I give thumbs up to electric bike company for what they are attempting to do. It's a far cry from these Chinese-based companies for sure. But they call it a made in USA product is a real mis statement. What the bikes are is assembled in USA with global products. By the way there's no such word as comfortability. It's just simply comfort.

I applaud your effort to educate this fellow, but truth be told, it’s going to be a LONG uphill battle. The reviewer has heard it being mispronounced by those hapless souls around him during his formative years. This makes relearning a new way of speaking (or pronouncing words) almost impossible. This is unfortunate, but it’s life in the good ol’ US of A. I had a much stronger reaction to his speaking style. I found it (literally) repulsive and had to shut it off immediately. But that’s just me; most people with his background wouldn’t even notice a problem, frankly.

Very biased and disappointing review. So Many “really, really, really great” descriptions that it comes off as a shill (or paid advertiser or reviewer). I expect better from EBR. : * ( Music had nice, “90’s Jazzy Elevator Music” flavor so that was nice. Sort of like taking a time machine back to a simpler time, right?
