The Electric Bike Technologies Electric Sun Traditional Tricycle is a value priced sturdy style electric delta trike with a lot of strength (300lb max weight), while remaining simple and using reliable proven systems. Both throttle and cadence based pedal assist available, can go slow to walk with crowds at 3mph and can reach 15mph top speed. A cantilever brake in the front, mechanical disc brakes in the rear, 500 watt front hub motor, and a cargo basket in the back. The seat is not made for pedaling as it is wider and the battery is mounted in the middle of the basket so some cargo won’t work.

I bought one of these a few months ago for my vacation home and I really love it. Very simple to use and love getting exercise without killing myself. It gets me out of the house when normally I would never venture out as much as I do now since getting this. The motor is super quiet and powerful.

There are a couple of items with the trike itself that I'm disappointed about: 300# weight (I'm currently 240# and want to use with groceries) and the battery located where it could be damaged by items in the basket (again, groceries, especially if something leaks). The review / reviewer, however, are excellent and very much appreciated.

I'm thinking of this same bike in the 7 speed version. It's about $740.00 w/o the motor. I wonder how much to convert it to this setup. I'm 74 with balance issues so the 3 wheels are great.

The rear rack is useless with battery on floor.. battery&SOLAR-lid cap ("BSLC" TECH) basket duh The ONLY use for basket is to put HUGE RANGE DC2DCSINGLECHIP12TO60VOLT ENABLED walmart $100 battery in stock everywhere with two year replacement warranty duh.

Get one at Walmart for $300 and a conversion kit for $250 and a lithium battery life po 4 off eBay for $400 but I really don’t like the older brakes on those!

All Traditional Trikes from EBT have the rear disc brake upgrade by default.

I've done this very thing. But these guys think about all of the points of failure which adds years to the trike. Something I agonize over with the ebay conversion hub motors is how the spokes are not tightened down enough and start clickety clacking after a few months. Then I do an amateur job of tightening them while keeping the wheel true.
