There is 38 of the Wrightbus vehicles, a mixture of 28 GB Kite Electroliner single deckers and 10 StreetDeck Electroliner double deckers thus converting the city’s urban bus fleet to zero-emission. These buses are made in Ballymena, County Antrim in Northern Ireland.
There are 22 charging units are being installed at Translink’s Pennyburn depot in Derry. They will allow 44 buses to be charged each night. Provision for a further 19 bus charging stations form part of that work which was undertaken by civil engineering contractor Farrans.
All 38 buses of the delivery are to Translink’s latest fleet standards. They will have high-backed seats finished in synthetic leather along with USB charging and wi-fi. These buses are equipped with audio-visual next stop announcements.

Sunsundegui is a bus and coach manufacturer based in Alsasua, Spain.
Across the River Foyle beyond the trees an 8 car C4K or Class 4000 Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) departs from Derry ~ Londonderry railway station towards Belfast. The railway is very scenic following the River Foyle Estuary and Lough Foyle on the way to Coleraine.
Foyle Metro is part of Translink. Translink run the buses in Northern Ireland which includes Metro in Belfast and Ulsterbus as well as the trains which includes the national railway of Northern Ireland being NI Railways, Northern Ireland Railways (NIR).
