CAF have a factory in Newport. Thats where the TfW 197's were built. The 397's have the same bogies as the 195/331's as the ride on those are god awful. The rumour I've heard is that EMR's Meridians could replace the HST's when they get replaced by the 810's.

Great update and I do agree with Blackpool Simon about the HSTs, they shall be missed as they are Icons of the Rail Network but the railways have to move on. Still some will be around on Test trains, Heritage Railways and Charter Trains.

I have heard that Lumo could operate a new open access service to Rochdale from London Euston which could happen next year. And London Northwestern Railway to start introducing the Class 730/2s from next year as well Avanti West Coast Class 807.
