It was only three years ago when I first saw a reaction video to Hypa Hypa by Eskimo Callboy from this tour manager on his fairly new channel. And now this American accompanies and supports this German band on their journey through the world, while sitting in Japan and telling funny backstories. Life writes stories that you can't make up.

@TankTheTech It really is. For me, last year in March, my whole EC journey started with your channel. Never heard EC, never watched reaction channels, it was the algorithm basically having a stroke. At the end of the year I got a notification from Spotify that I'm in the Top 1% listeners for EC, and I've also gained a new hobby of watching reactions to EC, because you showed me that reactions actually can add value to existing content. You know what really sells this as a true collaboration? Both bands are doing each others vocal parts. You rarely get that when the collab is just a glorified feature, that usually sticks to the “you get a verse and a chorus to yourself if you‘re lucky“ format. But here, they all jump in on each others vocal parts. I love that so much.

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。I witnessed the live debut and the second performance of RATATATA by BABYMETAL and Electric Callboy together in the two-day Fox_Fest on May 25 / 26 (Japan time) . Fun, happy, exhilarating, bubbly... Those words I could think of, as you can imagine. The song was played in the BABYMETAL's setlist in the festival. So, as you pointed out, the band in the back of the girls and Nico / Kevin was BM's West Kami Band (bassist = Ryan Neff) in place of EC band that played in this MV. That was great, too. Yes, on their 50:50 collaboration basis, the interchangeability between the two versatile bands is good. EC boys can join BM concerts and BM girls can show up in EC's worldwide 😍

@@dutchraider2 Dropping a random song to friends is one of the worst things you can do. Even if you love the same genre, music is all about the mood you're currently in. If I'm tired and someone links me this song, I won't listen to it. If I'm in a good mood, I will listen to it. And that's just two moods out of like a billion. Randomly dropping a song to a friend will usually backfire. Just play it when you're grilling irl and there's some music on the background or listening to same playlist online or whatever. hey tank! its been a while, i last commented on your every time we touch video. and i had to come back for this one. so here we go. i saw your video go up and thought, 'i'll watch it later' and went back to work, then this song came up randomly in my spotify playlist while on smart shuffle a few days later. i thought 'what the heck, i'll give it a listen.' i am so happy i did. its been on repeat in my ears for an hour now. and i, once again, can't tell you why! theres just something about this one, probably how there's nothing else like it that i can think of off the top of my head, that i drawing me in. its just so much fun! as i said, i don't listen to electric callboy, and i've never listened to BabyMetal before. but this, this is an immediate playlist staple for the gym and regular listening. thank you for bringing it to my ears once again!

A Night at the Roxbury (What is love) is the movie reference you're looking for. Also thank you for sharing all the extra stuff we didn't have an idea. And for one more thing I've noticed is that you're doing something I haven't seen any band/roadie done before. It's the reality what a roadie life is and how you interract with then band and all the rest of the crew. I'm thankful for your effort bringing all this to our understanding.

One of my favorite parts of the video is Kevin and Nico dancing like goofballs behind the highly choreographed Babymetal girls. XD Also how did they get so many disco balls? Did they just outright buy them or is there some disco ball rental company I don't know about??? rofl
@robote76794 ай бұрын
Yeah it was pretty clear in those scenes that three people on stage had done a LOT of dancing! No shade just enjoying how fun that was.

Yeah, you can rent them. Also the 2m one. The flightcase for that one is insane.
@69quato4 ай бұрын
Disco balls are still a staple for any kind of music/dance event ,so there are still plenty on rental in all sizes up to 2m in diameter. The latter is challenging to handle though - heavy and won't fit standard doors xD

Thanks a lot for taking the time to do this while on a busy tour schedule. We appreciate it. Here on YT the video was #1 Music trends for at least two days. And yes, a very balanced collaboration, which is great as I love both bands. And I agree that the songwriting is a really fine piece of work "They filmed that in Germany." You're not telling me that Babymetal came to the EC compound in Castrop-Rauxel, five miles from my doorstep, without me having the slightest idea, are you? Jeez. One question that has interested the Babymetal fans since the song came out: Which of the growls are actually Momo's? We know she can do it. Most of us assume that the second "Are you ready?" and the "Everybody"s are hers, while the first "are you ready" is Kevin. The "out of control" is hard to place, might be both of them. I'd love if you could enlighten us on this question. Greetings from Castrop-Rauxel!

People have no idea how much Babymetal travel, for example Su-metal came to Sydney in Australia to record her singing for 1 or 2 songs, especially Karate, for the second album. That was years before Babymetal performed in Australia.
@ralfklonowski37404 ай бұрын
@@autohmae Thank you for that info. Karate will always have a special place in my heart, as the original MV or rather a vocal analysis thereof was the first thing from BM I ever saw or heard, back in 2022. I fell into the Foxhole hard and fast and have been a happy Kitsune ever since.

You lucky S.O.B, lol. To be directly involved in a Fox Fest show, I'm insanely jealous! The song is so sick, I Iove it. I'd never heard Electric Callboy before this and I was super impressed by them. I hope someday long down the road when the Babymetal Omerta rule is gone(if ever), we get to hear some neat behind the scenes stories. You are living the dream.

Tank, the amount of undeserved pride I feel from hearing you're managing the EC tour is unbelievable. It's amazing, and I'm incredibly happy and so goddamn jealous of you that you get to go out there every night and make an insane experience for all the people coming to see the band and then you get to spend downtime with them and see them as people, not as we always see them as performers. Doing what you do, what you've practiced and trained for years, coming up from roadie to manager, that sense of accomplishment and fulfillment must be so satisfying and you get experience that because of hard work and long hours. Congratulations my friend. We're all here cheering you on.

To your point, I specifically credit BABYMETAL and Electric Callboy as the bands that put the fun back in metal. Amaranthe as well, to some extent, but they never got quite as popular.
@autohmae4 ай бұрын
And Babymetal noticed, Amaranthe was opening band in the UK in 2019, 1 show though. The other opening bands: Sleep Token. Which had a funny effect, those in the audience that liked 1 opening band didn't like the other much and vice verse.

i said this on their FB post for this song. if this is the lead single for the new record i'm already ready for it, and it can't be announced fast enough. then i had a giddy fan moment when nico liked my comment. may not mean much to a lot of people, but for me that's the equivalent of a meeting a celebrity. really still hoping to see them live one day.

watching the boys try their darndest to hit those moves and just not getting it is so funny like you can tell they're supposed to kinda be doing what the girls are doing and they just give up at the end its so endearing

I fucking love the fact that you always give BabyMetal the respect they deserve :) Since you started with BabyMetal It's always been with fairness respect which for a LONG time, was unfortunately rare for metalheads. It's been a long 'road of resistance' for BM (Hyuk Hyuk Hyuk... ahem.... Ok I'll let myself out now...) in gaining acceptance from the metal community. So many elitists and anti-fans make reactions and reviews from channels like yours really precious to the fan base, so thank you :) PS: Oh! and two more things, so many people don't realize that Momo-Metal did a few growls in this collab. I'm super proud of that girl for stepping up to add the one thing BabyMetal was missing! Also, It was super cool to get a behind the scenes perspective from you :) So double thank you for that XD
