Digging the story times... nice to see behind the scenes!

Gonna be honest, the venues stories sound like nothing but bullshit and covering their own ass by blaming the bands and their crew along with discrediting people who were there by saying "eye witnesses" in a clearly dismissive manner. As you said, the vast majority of people who were there and have spoken about it have corroborated the original story of security being dicks. Couple that along with plenty of reviews saying security have been an issue there I'm inclined to believe the bands and fans rather than the venue who stands to lose business if it got out that their security are just a bunch of assholes with chips on their shoulders.

First time I got to see Whitechapel live was during their "This Is Exile" 10 year tour at my favorite local venue that is less than 500 person cap; from seeing their early videos on Headbanger's Ball and going back to this makes me so excited for this new record. Hope I can take my wife to a show for this album release tour. My best friend recently saw them live with his wife and said they performed both new songs which killed the entire crowd...... LITERALLY!!!!! 😮 He told me 😅

I grew up in the 90s rewinding video and cassette tapes to learn complex guitar and drum parts and try to take a wild guess at the technique. it’s a crazy time where kids have access to the information and tools so they can learn any technical part note by note at any pace. Because of this we are seeing very young musicians that can play more technically than we ever imagined. By itself this is a great thing but after losing the value of owning an entire album with the music being digested in short clips. Now people are faking performances online it’s developed into more of a competition than writing great music.

I'm a bass playing trucker, where you're looking really doesn't bother me, I have to watch the road anyway. I just love hearing the stories. 😂

Having been mixing rock shows for over 40 years, I've seen a lot of mosh pits. Frankly I've never understood the attraction of such things. If only the active participants were the ones subject to possible injury I'd be fine with them. The reality is that too many folks consume alcohol and other substances that impair rational thought and self control, and folks trying to avoid the pit or aholes that can't keep their violence to themselves become victims; if victims are going to sue venues, promoters, and performers, I hope they prevail. The number of comments here that essentially blame the victim is sickening.

Still wish Rudi would've wanted to be the permanent drummer. This is sick though!

They thought theyd save money not buying locking straps but the medical liability will cost them more. Sounds like some cheapskates were in charge who didnt wanna spend the money needed for the resources.

A) I’ve watched a total of three of your videos and in all three you tap about your sobriety. B) After two months of this video, you have less than 90K views, yet you chat about the bands’ popularity or the music community’s awareness of an issue as if you have your finger on the pulse of music industry. Dude, you were a roadie; regardless of your experiences, you speak as if you are the benchmark for understanding. Not really the case.

Having worked for years with touring groups (mostly as a house A1 but "on tour" as well). I was working a very high end night club (around 400 ppl) and the management booked in a "special guest" band. To control volume, the stage was ALL IEM with the artists having their own mix remote control. When alerted to this booking, I reminded the management, we will need to do sound check. The act showed up late (no sound check) and the special guest was struggling (It turned out this was something like her 3rd live gig). Her manager was yelling at me to fix the exact problem I had warned about. Luckily the management wasn't clueless in this case but yea... Horror stories from the road. I get it :). I was house system tech (around 1.5k venue) for a notable national act (1 week run). Their lead vocalist was having serious vocal problems. The band and mix was quite good but overall the show suffered. My house management told me, contractually, I needed to step in as the house retained control of the "sound". I had already talked to their sound guy (a really decent nice fellow) who said he was leaving the tour after this show anyway. He just left a couple of days early (no hard feelings - whew). My house management said it sounded better but I don't believe it really did. As you know it's difficult to polish a poor performance. I felt really bad for both the singer and the sound guy for the bad situation. The band asked me if I wanted to finish the tour with them. Sadly I had to said no :(. The many war stories we can tell our grandchildren (I'm now retired - well sort of :). Thanks for a great video.

As a MASSIVE Red fan, it does my heart good to know that even though there was a lot of friction and people didn't handle themselves super well, that they're not bad dudes. 😅 Super entertaining story. Thanks for sharing.

I've worked in the concert industry as a stagehand for 25 years. The idea that ANYONE would tell another adult not to drink while on tour is ridiculous. Like it or not, booze is pretty entrenched in roadie culture. People work too hard for way too long to treat them like they're children and not let them unwind how they see fit. It would be different if you were drinking right before or during load-out. But on your own time? That's just asinine.

All tours, even without any crews or roadies, should have somebody designated with the job description of doing an "idiot check" after each gig. Make sure some idiot didn't leave something valuable behind.

Tune the guitars, rig and tun the lights . Pack the pa . Rub the merch before and after show . Drive the van and try live on 4 hours sleep …. Ahh the good old days . Amazingly less stress than touring today and more fun haha .

When he first said "I was hiding my drinking from my wife at home" my first thought was "She knew. She knew the whole time." Low and behold, she did. Bros, she knows. If you're getting high/drunk on the downlow, if you're watching porn regularly, even if you're just happier when you're away from home and her, she knows. They pick up on stuff like that terrifyingly quickly. Tank is far from the first time I've heard of this type of story. Never bet on being able to hide these habits from her.
