I had an ev for 6 months, i admittedly fell for the propaganda and the sales person. The car was meant to do 250 miles on a full charge, it would manage 170 ish on my 100 mile a day commute. I ended up have to public charge to bring the battery up so i had enough for the following day. The salesman said to me based on my commute ""you only need to charge once in a blue moon" the car cost an absolute fortune to run.. so much so i bought an old 1.9 audi a4 and drove that while the ev stayed on the driveway. The ev did 170 ish miles... the old audi 1.9 800 miles (if i was careful) out of a tank. The issue is people are fed information which isnt true "Zero emissions" isnt true either, emissions when it charges, being made and scrapped. My audi is zero emissions.... when its not running. Rant over! Love your videos

Regen breaking does activate the brake lights. It's also a legal requirement, so it has to.
@andrewfindlay90998 сағат бұрын
Not so on a Peugeot van in fact when they introduced them to our place they stated that they did not come on on regen but they were working on a fix so not all do , so cannot be a legal requirement🤔
@aussie2uGA7 сағат бұрын
Has nothing to do with regen, accelerometers in most every new car now detect how a car is decelerating or accelerating from the forces , triggering the brake lights when necessary. It's no longer a "foot switch".
@andrewedwards78806 сағат бұрын
@@aussie2uGA okay let's simplify this, in the UK (so assume EU) on an EV the brake lights activate whilst decelerating either via the foot brake or boots regen braking - there may be a point when it doesn't but that would be equal to our less than engine breaking in an ICE (during this process in an ICE, there would also not be a brake light activation. Congratulations on making this sound much more complicated than it actually is.

@@andrewedwards7880 lol, simplify? If the car decelerates at a certain threshold, brake lights come on. It’s just a g-force sensor that turns the light on. KZbin doesn’t allow links but it’s easy to Google.

You, Smeg Master were very fond of saying batteries never improve. Right until you drove the new Taycan. That's the improvement in 3 years. In terms of brake lights while regening, yes and no. Depends on how much deceleration is applied

Very true in that area, the fastest chargers are typically 125kw, which is okay and your car easily achieves that.
