Great to see you so upbeat and busy, well done Lee and crew! I was selling at a big old school distributor back in the early eighties. The boss changed the pay system from fixed salary(!) to a very low basic plus a small percent of net profit. After the first month, my boss calls me into his office and tells me I’ve earned more than him this month! Then the cheeky bugger followed up by adding ‘and we can’t have that!’ Just before walking out, I asked, ‘so, you want me to sell fewer cars or make less profit?’. Then told him where to insert his job! By the time I’d walked home, my company vehicle was outside my house, keys put through the letterbox along with a written apology. I’ve still got the letter……

I bought that 108! It’s a lovely thing, great condition and you are absolutely right about them. I have a 107, had a C1 and it’s like a plusher version with better ride and interior (though I miss the little rev counter pod🤣). It doesn’t bong or bing at you or use intrusive technology like ‘lane assist’ which in many cases tries to kill the driver….. I just imagine all the technology on new cars when it’s 10 years old and the cost when it starts to go wrong 😱

I bought the red one! I think it stuck because it was above the sweet spot price because of the low mileage (46k). Worth the money though drives like a new car and like a car from at least the class above, whilst keeping the fun.

Well done Lee, great start to the year. Where I stay in the city centre we have just got a ULEZ zone so all the old diesels have gone and it is all petrol fiat 500s , fiestas and Polos now. This must be pushing up the demand for them too.

I looked at a three year old car at a car supermarket this week and their idea of prepping a car was to clean it but not very well (swirls everywhere and even leaves under the bonnet). They supposedly check the car over too but weren't going to do anything to bring the paint up. You're way better than them.

What a fantastic guy Lee is, he has such a passion for cars and is a petrol head in the truest sense. So knowledgeable about his stock. I know enough about cars to know that Lee is that rare gem. You should be paying a dealer margin for their expertise in knowing which models are worth buying, within that which examples are straight and then doing the prep to sort out the common issues. In reality many dealers just buy anything and chuck a sponge at it. Not Lee, he puts the work in and uses his knowledge to give you a proper car. Just collected the red 108 which I bought unseen knowing the prep that would be done on it. Drove it back home over 50 miles yesterday and it was like a new car it drove so well, it really was a proper thing. I’ve had a chance to look around the car and the paintwork is mint and it sounds and drives spot on. The 108 is a 107 that is better finished, quieter, with an improved ride and deals with road imperfections better but keeps the same fun handling. Gearbox feels exactly the same 😂. Cheers Lee🎉😃

Glad you doing well As a businessman myself really think you should consider getting another mechanic you could then speed up your throughput quite a bit 1 extra sale a week would probably cover that cost and really think you could get 3 or 4 extra sales a week with an extra mechanic which would enable quicker prep and quicker restock

5 year fixed mortgage deals on 2% are coming to an end this year. People need to find many £100’s more a month. First thing to go is the expensive car payment. Yes, always check the sills as the metal is a little thin, later ones were bit better built. Drive wise they are fine the 4x4 models.

Would have definitely been interested in the C-class if it had been an Auto, around 2001 I bought a 2 years old 99 T reg C230 kompressor sport manual with the stupid pedal hand brake, it's ok once you get use to it that's brilliant for an auto but not a manual. I'm guessing later generations manuals still have the pedal to engage it & the dashboard release. So for that reason I'd never buy another manual Mercedes.

I think if the Merc had been a C220 (a 6 cylinder) than it couldn't be retailed for under 5k the 4 cylinder C180 isn't as desirable as the 6 cylinder once just like a BMW 3-series
