Hey, do you plan to do a sand dune trip someday? That would be an awesome video. I use to go to Sand Mountain Nevada, hoping to get a bike soon
@ElectroBraap6 жыл бұрын
Ryan Kirkpatrick Yes but probably not until August. Deep sand is going to be a fun learning experience for me. 😂👌

After watching most your vids im going to sugest you buy some sprockets and a chain for lower gearing when you ride the hilly single tracks. Your battery and speed controll will lasts longer and run cooler. And secound id chase down a rear hub designed for an enduro with a cush drive sprocket hub. It will help with traction and protect your gearbox over chatter.

Cool videos but what's with keeping the helmet on? Anyway, it's cool seeing the owner perspective on this bike, I only see review videos out there.

Bro can you do a video on how to change the oil? I have a redshift and I called Alta and the guys there couldn’t really explain to me how to do it.
@ElectroBraap6 жыл бұрын
Fish Grow Greens sure can and I will tonight. I'll try to upload it before sat morning.

Any buyers beware you can think of? Like beware of power changes? Low battery performance? Or jump/drop capacity? What is the 1000 he maintenance?
@joshnc1016 жыл бұрын
The battery, like any other battery will lose charge capacity over time and charge cycles. If I remember right Alta rated the battery as having 80% of its original charge capacity after 1000 hours of ride time. Not really sure of the motor though. It’s a brushless motor so no brushes that have to be changed, and the bearings they use are sealed ball bearings that generally last a long long time.

Some good questions here. Not sure what you mean by drop/jump capacity. I don't notice performance loss until the battery is almost totally dead. (I usually ride on map 2 though) I called Alta about the 1000hr service and they said it's mostly just to check the bike over. They don't anticipate anything needing to be changed at that point in time... Impressive... I think a good video idea might be "Things you should know before you buy".

ElectroBraap in regards to jump/drop capacity I was asking about riding the bike through hard Enduro stuff and having to take it down some drop offs. I heard if the bike is setup up for riding single track (like any other bike). The suspension would a little too soft to be doing the above mentioned. Thank you for replying I really appreciate it. I'm thinking about buying an Alta ex.

Chris M I'd have to agree, when the bike feels dialed on the trails it is a bit soft for hard landings. I haven't had any issues because of it though.

In other words you must really enjoy the bike.

The MX Guru I do!... That and I have no negative feelings towards putting hours on it.... If I was riding a 2 stroke this much i would need a new top end already! My yz125 is currently sitting because it needs milk...

The MX Guru BTW I like your videos man. We should do a collab or at least shout each other out! Where are you located?

Having run both electric and nitro rc cars the electric will be 1/4 the price to operate . maby even less if your not the handy type that adjust your own valves and replace timing chains. Some of these 4 strokes have stupid high valtrain mantince.

do you ever take your helmet off
@kelvynbettridge6 жыл бұрын
I assume when you said maintenance should almost cost less in the long run you meant total bike ownership as the cost of maintenance appears to be near zero.
@ElectroBraap6 жыл бұрын
Kelvyn Bettridge Totally, my apologies for not being clear. Some days I can bearly speak proper English so this was the best I could muster lmao.
@mxgryan6 жыл бұрын
Kelvyn Bettridge well you still have some oil to change, chain and sprockets, bearings, and suspension to maintain.
@ElectroBraap6 жыл бұрын
I agree. I still consider the wearable parts as maintenance. Same deal for ICE bikes, it all adds up. Biggest difference is lack of long term maintenance. Which I do believe would have the total cost after 1000 hours below that of an ICE bike.
@kelvynbettridge6 жыл бұрын
The MX Guru for sure, fair point regarding common service items. My head was just spinning thinking about no more top ends no more Rekluse no more flat pipes and mufflers. Another game changer for how your local bike shop does business. Not hard to see why the big guys are going slow on this tech.
@mxgryan6 жыл бұрын
Wow dude you've already hit 77 hours? It takes me like 2 years to hit that on my 450s lol

The MX Guru Trail riding every weekend will rack the hours up fast! 😥 poor bike.
@mxgryan6 жыл бұрын
ElectroBraap all I can think about when I rev hard to ride for hours is valve adjustments and top ends. I'm hoping the Alta will take away that stress.
