Your interpretation of Spark Mandrill is pretty interesting. On one hand, he seems all too glad to take his revenge on humanity and the "old world". But on the other, he also seems to feel a little remorseful whenever he kills someone. Maybe he doesn't really want the war but sees it as the only solution. Additionally, it seems like he's not corrupted by the Maverick virus, or at he claims that's the case. It could just be him denying his madness but who knows?

Her interpretation of Spark Mandrill could be based off his Maverick Hunter X self which is accurate

The fun thing is that, with the exception of Sigma himself, there were no cases of Sigma Virus' infection in neither X1 nor X2. The Mavericks in X1 were Maverick Hunters who defected into Sigma's side for different causes, while the ones in X2 were Maverick Hunters that were captured and brainwashed (aka reprogrammed) to serve Sigma and help him spread the virus (but didn't get infected themselves).

I'm liking these so far! I'm also wondering how you'd interpret Launch Octopus. From what I remember, there are two different takes on his character and motives in the games: The original Mega Man X has him being a bitter character who despised the very humans he had to protect, and he joined Sigma's rebellion to embrace his misanthropy. Maverick Hunter X has dropped his misanthropy in place of a flamboyant fighter who joined the rebellion because he felt that his combat potential and artistic fighting style were genuinely appreciated by Sigma.
