Oh this was absolutely worth the wait. One thing I love is that in this version, not only do X and Zero face Vile together instead of being separated like in the game, but X actually takes the shot. In the game, its that hesitation that once again screws him over, but in this he shoots and does whats right.

The second segment, Vile's theme, can't be described with a single word like the first one, and it's because it's more heterogeneous. From the cocky nature of that purple beach (you know what i meant), to those perfect duets between X and Zero (no, seriously, that "Keep him cornered, don't back down! " has been roaming my head these three days. I really really like it) to going back to the triple singers with vile adding himself to the mix, thought he doesn't impact much melodically, while he is just mocking and taunting X. Which makes me wonder, Why so much beef with him? I get why he wants to kill him, but trying to get under his skin, and just HIS skin is extreme. But I guess it makes sense with him being such a sadistic piece of scrap metal. And now comes my biggest "flaw" with the song. The part between 5:00 and 5:40, while not bad, doesn't click with me that much. I'm not the biggest fan of that type of talk-sing, and I don't know why the rhythm screams *pirate* for me. I don't know why, but I can't hear anything more than *pirate 🏴‍☠️* in that segment, thought that's a me thing and only a me thing. But don't worry, because ot gets immediately compensated by those four verses afterwards: *Say your last goodbyes, as the light flees from his eyes. Zero's saved you far too long, but now you stand alone* . Wow, just wow. From the heavenly feeling it transmits, to it's depressing nature, to that message of "The last one that has ever cared for you has died, flavor his last moments, cause you are not seeing him again" is just... Wow. That's the perfect way to end the segment, and if the first part sent shivers down my spine, this one straight up locked me in the freezer. I've got one part and one more comment left to go. And again, this is almost perfect (but again, those 40 seconds screaming *pirate* in my head are the biggest flaw that I can find, and it's MY fault).

holy shit this is an incredible beginning to the end. that “vile busts out the big guns” transition is excellent!!! I think it’s very funny that X says “Forgive me” after already having eliminated the eight *most reasonable* rebels - he might be referring to them, or the whole thing has obviously weighed down on the poor lad’s conscience in general…. On a side note, a few days back I learned that the Met and Iworm enemies in the X series are considered reploids, and that’s terrifying. Imagine being born as a construction guy two feet tall with no arms or even worse, eyes. Do Mets get paid? Can they sue for their abominable curse of sentience?? maybe some of them had a point, lol

It’s not even Thanksgiving yet and we get blessed with another MASTERPIECE!!! So much that I want to say, but I don’t want to bore anyone with another text list 😅 But I will say that everything down to the artwork, music, and callbacks were all fantastic to quick summarize! I’m also guessing that Flame Mammoth was already released, which I’ll go see that immediately after this. ( I haven’t been on since Storm Eagle because of some stuff happening in life, but it’s getting better. ) Keep up the amazing work! Can’t wait for Sigma!

(Edit) KZbin erased my last comment, so I'll have to do it again. Yipeee 🙄🙄. The third segment is the golden cherry on top to finish of this masterpiece. If I had to describe it with one word, it would be "beautiful". Zero's goodbye is amazing. Him recognising X as something better that whatever he could have ever been, showing his admiration towards his efforts, and giving his sword in his final breath. And it's not only what it's said, its how it is said: *While my eyes can still see, and my hands, they can still grasp, take this final part of me...* , only to be cut into dr light's theme. This is such a masterfully crafted part. And it follows with X going through four of the five stages of grieve (anger is missing), while an almost ethereal chorus that's intended to be Zero's soul/memory pushing Megaman to carry on. And in the end, X pushes foward, having lost his last friend and fighting to keep his legacy. A perfect way to end this wonderful song, but there is something I want to add... In my first comment I mentioned the references to "hell on the highway", your cover of the intro stage. I think that in either in the sigma fight song, or in the credits song, you could do one last reference to it. That song ended with *Pray that we see the end of the day* , and in this one that theme reapears with *I pray we see the sunlight in the morning* , and I personally think it would be kida cool if you ended one of those songs with a remade versionnof that last verse of *hell on the highway* , changing it to *I wish you had seen the end of this day. It's my humble idea, and while I don't expect you to take it into consideration, i wanted to bring my grain of sand. All in all, this one has been one of the best ones yet, and enters my top 5 of all your productions ever. I'll be waiting your next song, although I won't make a comment this long. It has taken me more than 2 hours to write these (specially counting that KZbin erased my comment) , and I would have to buy a thesaurus just to not run out of ways of praising you. But thanks for the masterpiece, cause it is a real pleasure to listen to!

Honestly, these are my favorite kind of comments to get! It’s so important for me to hear what landed and what didn’t, but also how much of what I intended for the song made it across. I’m so happy you took note of the different leitmotifs! I’m trying to push how “story-like” these songs can be. I’m so glad you like it, even without being an X series fan! After 3 days of hearing and analysing this work of art, I'm ready to give my thoughts. And how Zero says in this song, "No more holding back". But before that, I want to make a confession. I'm actually not a Mega Man fan. I've only played Eleven and The Wily Wars, and haven't even touched the X series. And while I really liked those games, I haven't touched more about the franchise. You (and that terminalmontage video) are the only reason why I have discovered and fell in love with this music, and if I ever play any megaman X game, it will be because of you. Also, if you were wondering, I found this channel searching for covers of eleventh hour. It's such a shame almost no one covered that song, I really like it. With that truth out of my chest, let's begin. If I had to use one word to describe the first segment of the song, it would be "epic". The heros, standing tall against their final challenge, and praying to see the sunlight once again once this is over. The combined vocals of both X and Zero sound heavenly, and although I wouldn't understand half of what Zero says without the subtitles, that harmony they make is just spectacular. And I really appreciate Zero's "I'll see you in hell", because it shows that even the one that doesn't hesitate realizes the amount of blood (oil?) in his hands. And then there comes vile. I really like the tone of your voice you use for him, cause is soothing and smooth, while also deep enough that it feels imposing. And I really, REALLY love how you implemented his leitmotiv in the background around 1:33. I don't know how to describe it, but it just adds to that grandeur feeling you managed to build. Also, cool *hell on the highway* reference, but we'll talk about that song later. And then, they start combining with eachother until maching a three machine chorus that impacts both melodically and plot wise. Zero fully focused on the objective being the main lyric, X both focusing and apologizing showing both the inner conflict and his determination and working as a chorus, and vile showing his seemingly unstoppable force, and serving as a pretty fitting background. Then comes the second reference to *hell on the highway* , followed by what I think is another *vile's theme* reference in X's "I was never built for war", and a duet that ends with a holded note that sends shivers down my spine. And all of that ending the first segment with a reprise of the starting bit, but with the lyrics changed to express that Zero is the only one that X has left, and reiterate that this is the end. This first part is, how I said, epic. The vocals are calm yet impactful, and I don't know how to describe them with anything more than "I like them". Cause they are good. Really good. I'll divide my analysis in either two or three comments to both boost the algorithm and to make the reading more manageable. But for this first segment, this is awesome.
