All good things must come to an end. But it's sad, nonetheless. My first experience with them was when they played our short-lived club, the Wilderness, in Binghamton, New York, on January 23, 1971. It was a memorable experience, not least because it was the last time I smoked pot, when Jorma put the pipe in my mouth, backstage. I'd already taken enough drugs to know I'd taken enough drugs by then. It's been over 50 years of sobriety for me, and over 50 years of making great music for them. Here's to Jorma and Jack, and those who accompanied them over the years. May the sounds of their wonderful music never fade!

so as I wrote in an other you tube chat of jorma and jack lovers, hot tuna have been one of the wonderful sound track in my life. anyway, when I see these two old men (I am 64) to play in a live contest ... not so sure on their legs, stopped in their side, or moving so slowly, I am not sure that's a good way to leave the rock scene. then, when I listen their as usally way to play, when I look at jack wich wait for a jorma's signal like he did on '70, when I close my eyes, my armchair becomes again my first ford car ... and fuck the age, fuck sickness and pain. an other short chapter of all hot tuna guys life soundtrack! Have a good evening my so dear "kaukonian" unknown friends.😝😝😝🍻🍻🍻🎼🎸🎸🎸

Hot fuckin tuna music must be played very loud to be HOT TUNA! There was never ever a low volume bass solo done by JACK from 1969 thru their last show before the breakup on 11/26/77. A MANDATORY trademark of TUNA was their very loud volume to blow you away and shake the floor and walls, Without floors and walls shakin, it cant be ELECTRIC HOT TUNA! Electric HOT TUNA IS incredibly loud!! I was there and still deaf from Saturday NOVEMBER 22, 1975 WHICH WAS A 8 HOUR SHOW early and late!

MEMORIES .....ABOUT 4 am in the morning 11/22/75 cops/security go the back of the stage and say "thats it"!!!!. .....JORMA SAYS QUOTE, "WELL folks someone has said some shit or another, my own father claims that we play too long, but what the fuck does he know, well in order for us to do our customary 17 encores which only happens with an ACADEMY audience, no one noticed in the early show but this is going to be our last song, but you know we are going to come back on and play, even if you dont want us too!!" ...............they break into a 35 minute INVITATION AND COME back on and play 3 more songs! SHOW ends and everyone outside who is only age 14 to approximately 21 are shouting "hot fuckin tuna!!!!!, hot fuckin tuna!!!! .......Was hoping TUNA would resurrect some of that "madness" OF 1975 AND 1976.....especially the "volume aspect"... to go out "loud and strong and forever present".......but I GUESS NOT .....forever GRATEFUL ANYWAY......THANKS JACK AND JORMA, I guess its time to say buy!! All good things must come to and end ......even JACK's SUPER SUPER LOUD BASS SOLOS!!!

Its SATURDAY 22 1975......EARLY SHOW about 715 pm ACADEMY OF MUSIC (winding up the 1975 FALL TOUR BEFORE they go speed skating in EUPOPE).....JACK comes on with dutch boy haircut and removes a shoulder bag.......JACK gives a shy very high huge smile and hits several notes (tune up time pre-show) and MY WHOLE SEAT in the second row shook along with the walls and floor, now that's the TUNA I KNOW......LOUD LOUD blaring HOT FUCKIN TUNA.....take away and lower the volume and its no longer HOT TUNA (LOW VOLUME and HOT TUNA DO NOT MIX!!)

Right On Bro I was at many of those shows when i Lived in Ny area if not that one in particular but I probably was. Last time I saw Jorma was in AZ in a club played acoutice probably circa 2010-2013 something like that and I saw Tuna at the further festival in AZ. I think Invitation was one of those songs from the 70s that were never revived but was unforgettable.

@@barrye5376 Yes TUNA would play NY, NY EVERY fall and would usually wind up the fall tour with the final date in NY NY. In NY NY ON 14 STREET WAS THE ACADEMY OF MUSIC TUNA played there 1973 thru 1977. In 1976 THE ACADEMY OF MUSIC turned into THE PALLADIUM. Interesting enough there was an ACADEMY OF MUSIC in downtown Brooklyn.

ABSOLUTELY fantastic, but JACK needed to turn it up badly. Just saying in 1975 and 1976 tuna was so much much louder. When JACK would hit a note the floor would rumble! Jack played many tasty notes for this show and chords but he needed to turn it up like 1975 and 1976

@@Seekmage because to get the full effect of Hot Tuna, you need to listen to it loud or play it loud! The electric stuff happens to be very loud music! On the side of the American choice album sleeve it says “ play at maximum volume volume for full effect“ I didn’t look at the album, but it says something like that

A bass solo not turned up is a waste of a what could of been a great great solo!!! Note wise it is a great solo (nothing like 1976), but still ONLY a slight tease of what once was!!

I thought for the "final tour" that they would turn up the volume, especially during a JACK solo! Maybe the soundman is clueless ( as he never saw a TUNA show in 1975 or 1976!???) In 1975 and 1976 JACKS'S solos were a TRILLION times louder. and thus a trillion times better sounding! Not complaining like an old man that I AM, JUST severely disappointed
