Electric hub wheel runs backwards.

This is a brand new kit brought from eBay. Over the last 12 years we have brought and sold a countless number, so I know how to fit them.
When you buy a hub kit you get basically everything apart from a battery. The connections are fool proof and it's just a matter of fitting it all together and fitting to the bike.
This video is of a brand new kit and shows that despite all the wires needed are fitting correctly eel runs backwards !? it's not as if I've fitted the wheel the wrong way as the sprocket means it can only be fitted one way.
if anyone knows what the problem is and how to fix it I'd love to know.

On my motor controller if you connect the "learning wire" temporarily you can reverse wheel rotation. In my case when the single green wire is connected to the other single green wire, and then turn it on. The wheel begins to rotate. To change direction I twist the throttle. Then shut off the controller and disconnect the " learning wire" and the proper rotation direction is set.

I have almost the simililar problem but this time my hub wont even spin back or forward, but it moans.. im just worried that i will damagemit if i change the motor phase wires.. or can i use a tester or something to specificly know hoe does the 3 wires works?

Swap any two of the phase wires over.

@@andrewblackamore4668 The 3 wires coming out of the hub motor and also the 3 coming out of the controller. There is 3 phases 120 degrees apart to make a circle of 360 degrees. On the off chance that that doesn't work just turn the wheel over.

@@tuguybear930 it's the rear wheel so the gear would be on the wrong side but I did do it but need gears to be road legal.

I had this problem on the way to work and was late because of it. What I did was swap the green and blue wires coming from the hub. And if it does it again (because I take the battery off a lot) I will just switch them back. Good Luck!

Ran into a similar problem myself and as Wayne Goff suggested, you need to flip two of the phase wires. My guess is that you need to swap yellow and green so that yellow goes to green and green goes to yellow. To check this ensure that the controller is powered down. Pop of the end cap and see if the blue is in the centre of the controller. From what I have seen in the past which ever is in the centre stays going to its colour and two outside phase control wires get flipped. Hope that helps.

I got this kit and had the same problem.. try motor wires yellow to green green to yellow blue stays to blue.. then phase wires is green to blue blue to green yellow to yellow

No, in the they replaced it, and when I wired it up the same it worked!?
