My dad knew every word of this song by heart, including the fast breakdown section, and he could recite the whole thing to me and mom in the car, listening to this. My dad was the biggest ELO fan who ever lived since he was growing up in the 1970s. We lost him 3 years ago in December 2020 to cancer related heart issues during COVID19. This song still brings back memories. My 35th birthday was yesterday, and for some reason, this morning, this song popped into my head, made me think about my daddy. I miss him every day that he's not here, and mom and I love listening to ELO every chance we get.

This song made me fall in love with ELO. I wish I could have grown up in the 70's. I was born in 2001, yet all of Jeff Lynn's amazing music is what makes me truly happy. I wish music nowadays was this good.

ELO was probably the most underrated band of their era..which was MY era, as well..I was 12 when this came out, and remember it SO well! WHAT times they were..I instantly associate this with roller-skating, at the rink on Friday nights, in Redding, Ca!

Saw them in concert at Detroit last night. I've never been a big fan of ELO, but experiencing this music live was nothing short of transforming. When the music really *hits* you - all of the different parts, in all their complexity, that *SHOULDN'T* work together according to your logical brain, and yet somehow they DO - it's a real spectacle for the senses. I can really hear the genius of it, now.

My friends ask me why I listen to "grandfather music". This is why. Music this good is multi-generarional. I was born around 34 years after Out of the Blue's release, and ELO is my favorite band. 🔥

You see David, this is proof that it's never too late to discover the masterpieces of these fabulous musical years ! (Not forgetting the 60’s, obviously...) I listened to this record in loop in 1977 and at 65, I still listen to it as much.... 😊 ♬ 👍

Everyone knows " Mr. Blue Sky", but only a few klow ELO. This one, Turn to Stone, is truly underrated. I mean, listen to this guitar, the rythm, the perfect harmony. I'd like to have known/heard it during the 70's, but I'm so glad to discover it right now in the 20's when ever I want, where ever I want. Knowing it in the 70's is priceless, for sure. But listening to it right now, is also very good. Think about it, about the CHANCE with have to have access to EVERYTHING, where ever we want, when ever we want.

Elo is actually of the greatest bands of all time. I've wanted to see them since a kid in late 70s on rollerskates..they had so many hits. And now Im gonna see them many years later in 2024 in Palm Springs for their final world tour. Almost brings tears to my eyes hearing this song and thinking this Saturday I'll actually see them after all these years at Acrisure Arena :)

The album, this song in particular, was the soundtrack for my flu that I had beginning Christmas Eve of '77 which lasted until it was time to go back to work on Monday, January 2, 1978. Every I hear "Turn to Stone" I remember feeling like I'd missed that whole period of time. Thank goodness that my wife nursed me back to health.
