Ruhe in Frieden Richard Tandy.

I don’t have the words… my favorite band of all time, since I heard the very 1st song, so long ago… I’ve just got the news. Although not knowing Richard personally, I knew his music, all his beautiful and amazing contributions to all the songs. Oh my, how sad to know he’s gone. I imagine his best friends and family. Silence for now, and prayer. I know I will be playing all ELO songs everyday, again, in a couple of days. This time also for my little children to listen to. Man how I love you guys. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

What an incredible musician! He and Jeff made the violins Rock! Rockaria made me dance before I could walk. Not bad for someone who had to learn the strings as he went. Isn’t that what they said in an interview? Anyway Tandy-Lynne and Company Rocked the 70’s. Thanks a million.

The man behind the robotic voice on "Mr. Blue Sky" is gone. I am sad. Since I was a teen, I knew the name Richard Tandy very well, as I was a big fan of ELO. He was a very talented musician and an integral part of their unique sound. My condolences to his family and friends, as well as fellow fans. 😢

Just a postscript to my own comment, lol. After writing about Mr. Tandy, I listened to some more ELO. In fact, I've got the "Out of the Blue" double-album on vinyl. And the last song on side 3 is Mr. Blue Sky. As some fans may know, at the very end of the song and as the music fades out, (many misunderstand these last lyrics, but they were verified in an interview with Jeff Lynne), you'll hear Richard's heavily vocoded, robotic voice singing, "Please turn me over...", meaning it's time to turn the record over to play side 4. Then it occurred to me... (some may think this sounds really corny, but...) maybe this is symbolic, as if Richard is telling us that we will hear him again, "on the other side." RIP, Richard. Hope we really can catch you again someday, on the flip side.🙏 Peace.
