What's a stator core test?

@@jeff2235 if there is major damage to the stator irons you will do a loss test to make sure it still retains the proper magnetic properties.

Depends on it's power but yes u can , it's not the smartest thing to do though cause it drops the power of the motor down .

The wire we (winders in general, I don't work for them) use to wind motors does have a very thin layer of protective varnish on it, but during the winding process scratches can occur and as noted in the video, so can manufacturing defects. Its always best to have as much insulation as possible because a direct short to a casing cause cause very big issue for the motor, electrical system, and operator.

Looked like he was taking measurements and observations regarding the motor when it came in and just writing it down on the clipboard. Probably has a pre-printed sheet with all the boxes for the data needed. As stated, he was recording the pitch and size of the copper wire, number of coil turns, number of slots, etc. All relevant data as it pertains to an electric motor.
