31:15 since the source charge is +ve and test charge is -ve, therefore Potential is gained when -ve charge is taken away from +ve. So at a distance, potential is HIGH but as we come close, isn't the potential LOW? kyoki unlike charges attract... so it should be negetive charge naturally moves from Higher potential to Lower. The graph would also change right? Correct me if I am wrong.

Sir, actually I didn't understand the graphical representation at the end of video... If source charge is negative & point negative chg. Is made to move away from the source negative chg.... Then it's actually moving from high negative potential to low negative potential... I didn't understand how you said that in this case negative point chg. Is moving from negative low potential to high potential ?

Electrons flow in a circuit form high potential to low potential to form electric current. Then why Electric potential at a point is defined as the work done in moving a unit of "positive" charge from infinity to that point.
@userialsptnspdntbspxkrnsofpe Жыл бұрын
First electrons flow from low potential to high potential by convention and second, taking a unit positive charge in the definition is also a convention. You can even take negative charge as well, but we take positive as it is easier to deal with. I hope it clears your confusion.

If we use the formula W = Fs Than substitute the value of F which is cloumb formula we will get the value of U without using calculas and many stuff
@Atheist-From-India Жыл бұрын
No, you can't do so. Because here in w=Fs, F is variable i.e it keeps changing (because it is inversely proportional to r².so, the force is not the same everywhere. It is less in more distance and keeps increasing as the charge comes closer.) So, since the force is variable, we cannot directly use W=Fs. It is applicable only for constant force.

Sir i have a doubt If i put a glass from point A to B and in this process I have done 5 jouls of work and by law of conservation of energy, energy doesn't get destroyed, so now that glass has 5 jouls of energy and now glass should do work equal to 5 jouls. But this doesn't happen why?

I had a question. I would be grateful if anyone can answer it. My question is why to do integration and differentiation to calculate electric potential energy. We know that energy is equal to work done which is equal to force multiplied by distance. Than directly multiplying expression of couloumbic force to r will give us electric potential energy. Why to do so much headache maths??

Let a space meteorite enters in gravitational field of earth, in this case no work is done on the meteorite but we know very well that meteorite Will gain energy in earth magnetic field as it go towards the earth and hit it with a force. Maybe the work done on meteorite in space is less than the energy it releases on earth. Where does this extra energy comes from? From where this gravitational energy comes from
