Awesome brother !! Wait till you put fat tires on it!!!!
@algrayson89654 жыл бұрын
I MAIM - No room for fat tires up front. Put the fattest tires you can get on the rear - flat tread dragster-style slicks like the Schwinn Orange Krate came with, which are appropriate for trike rear axles as the rear don't tilt or bank. The standard 1.5 tire up front gives the ”rail dragster” look. When you get into “20"” tires, you have to be careful as there are 4 incompatible rim diameters: • 406mm - 20x1¾, 2.125 - My Sun EZ-3sx has rear rims marked 406x20 with Kenda Kwest HP 100psi 20x1.5 tires. • 432mm - 20x2½ • 438mm - 20x1½ • 451mm - 20x1⅜ BSR I forgot to mention that fractional and decimal tire width markings designate different widths even though mathematically equivalent. 1½ ≠ 1.5; 1¾ ≠ 1.75; 2⅛ ≠ 2.125.

Is the frame steel or aluminum?
@supportourtroops15133 жыл бұрын
Just picked up another one (used, this time) - the rear hubs are stuck on the axles - I am guessing they corroded on because the hubs are aluminum and the axles are steel) - anyway - I have 2 damaged rear wheels that need repairing (broken spokes) and can't get these rims off the axles on the bike - HELP.

I just recently got a bike such as yours I was thinking about making it an e-bike. I enjoy the work that you have done any demonstration. Is there any tips that you can help me convert my bike how you did yours?? Appreciation

Measure the dropout width of the fork and you may have to use spacers or washers to avoid scraping against the brakes. Also have a 2nd person to help.

Nice! I have almost the same trike, the EZ3. Looks like you have the same size 16" front tire. Did you have to replace or modify the front fork to get this to fit?
@BatterymanDan7 жыл бұрын
C C I did have to stretch the fork just a tad.

My Sun EZ-3sx has a “16 x 1.5; 40 x 305” front wheel. All common “16"” bicycle wheels are 305mm ø rim bead seat ø, 957mm circumference. Tires range from • 1.5"/40mm • 1.75"/47mm • 1.9"/49mm • 2"/51mm • 2.125"/57mm They all have the same rim bead seat diameter. A Kenda Kwest 16 x 1.5/40-305 tire @ 65 psi under load is 47" circumference, which is 1,194mm. This is 14.6"/381mm ø. By swapping a 16 x 1.5 tire in place of the 16 x 1.75, 2 or 2.125 tire that came with the motor wheel the outside ø is reduced below 16" nominal. No fork straightening required.

State laws are gradually being amended to accommodate electric assisted pedal cycles. Some states have three classes. How about an electric microcar with pedal drive added?? If it is labeled by the manufacturer as “Maximum speed 20 mph/32 kmh” several states exempt them from motor vehicle titling, registration and insurance requirements. The federal law also exempts them from motor vehicle safety standards. You may be able to get coverage on your homeowner’s or tenant’s insurance like for pedal-only powered cycles. The 20 mph maximum speed is for flat level smooth pavement, no tailwind. Naturally they will coast downhill faster, but with no front brakes I wouldn't want to go even 20 mph, especially downhill. The ones shown for sale by Alibaba and others have full safety equipment as required in China, where they are very popular. They have LED headlights, taillights, turn signals, seat belts, side and rear reflectors, safety “glass” which appears to be polycarbonate (“Lexan®”). I didn't see a windshield wiper, so you'd want to keep “Rain-X” (polyvinyl alcohol) on the “glass” to make raindrops bead up. With a steel or aluminum alloy frame and thin sheet steel body panels the occupants have some protection against crashes. Better than none. Generally in the USA microcars are classed as “golf cars,” Neighborhood Electric Vehicles and are usually allowed on roads posted 35 mph or less, either formally by law or local ordinance or ignored as long as the drivers obey the rules of the road, child safety seats, slow moving vehicle triangles on the back, bicycle flags, keep as far to the right as is clear.
